BROOKINGS - Officially, it was the offense against the defense in the South Dakota State spring football game Saturday. On that front, the defense dominated, coming up with five takeaways in a 61-29 victory at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.
However, the more interesting contest was the one at quarterback, where four players are vying to replace record-setting starter Ryan Berry. Those results proved more difficult to judge.
"All four can play," Jackrabbits quarterbacks coach Don Bailey said. "It's just a matter of who's going to grade out the best and be able to compete when the bullets are flying." . . . (read more)
