I'm watching the Phils-Brewers matinee and Cole Hamels just took a Prince Fielder line shot off his left shoulder in the 4th inning. He didn't react badly. He stayed on his feet and continued to follow the play, but he did have to leave the game. JA Happ is in. Phils down 2-0 in 4th.

Let's hope Cole is OK. xeekx

Well, the "Verducci Effect" doesn't take into account bad luck injuries like taking a liner off your shoulder. Still sucks for Hamels though. Now if Hamels got hit with let's say a case of forearm tendinitis like Mike Pelfrey on the Mets then yeah possible Verducci Effect.
