I love going to the Carrier Dome for games! I was at the 'Cuse-'Nova game two years ago when the Wildcats handed the Orange their first loss. I was also at McNamara's last game which as against Villanova. That too was a Syracuse loss.

My streak of 17 straight years of attending at least one game at the Dome will sadly come to an end.

I watched Wake Forest vs. Virginia (aka the "C.J. Harris Free Throw Hour") on Wednesday. My aunt got free tickets for working overtime and couldn't use them. I'm not a Wake fan at all, but it did get very interesting in the last few minutes so I'm glad I went. As for my next event? I don't know, probably a baseball game, although there's free food for student Yosef Club members at the game against UNCG on Monday, so maybe I'll go even though both teams have been abysmal this season.

I think it was the 91 World Series when my sister happened to sit next to Aretha Franklin at the game. Lynn said that she was extremely nice and "normal"- not a diva at all. They spent most of the time talking about their kids.

I didn't get to any UNI games this past season due to moving and some other tom-****ery.
I didn't get to any UNI basketball games
I didn't get to any minor league baseball games last summer
I didn't get to any USHL hockey games this past winter.
I haven't even been to a high school sporting even in so long I can't remember - even though when I lived in Cedar Falls I was 4 blocks from the high school and now in Marion I can see the football/soccer stadium from my back window for one of the high schools in Marion (one of the largest in the state).

The last college event I went to was Iowa/Michigan FB this past November thanks to free tickets and before that it was UNI vs. North Dakota in the CIT about 2 or 3 days before my kid was born (who is now over a year old).

Holy ****, do I need to get to some ****.

Cedar Rapids is the single A affiliate of the Twins. I'd go if they weren't a Twins affiliate but being a big Twins fan it's a bonus. My wife and can free tickets from work, and it's not like the $11 tickets would ruin me anyway.

I'd also like to get to an IFL game here in Cedar Rapids.

I'm debating trying to get to the John Deere Classic later this summer as well.


That is all if I get the go-ahead from the wife....I only played 1 round of golf last summer compared to about 15 in a normal summer

She's going to Chicago for some mommy/daughter shin dig in July and asked if I wanted to go and just hang out in Chicago. Not a terrible thing so I started looking at what sports were in town that weekend. Cubs hosting the Cards and my favorite Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur, is in Chicago that weekend as part of their North American preseason tour. I'll never get to London to see a game there (though i would kill for that chance...seriously, I'd kill a dude and never come back from London...I don't give a ****...okay, only partly serious.... Hall of Fame Vikings coach Bud Grant began what is promised as his "biggest, best and last garage sale" Wednesday evening at 8134 Oakmere Road in Bloomington.
The ad announcing the sale says there will be "No junk!" That might differentiate it from most garage sales. What it does have includes "Vikings stuff old and new, hunting, fishing, decoys, guns, outboard motor, snowmobile suits, helmets, antiques, clothing, furniture, books, pictures, many unique items."

He pretty much sat and signed autographs the entire time I was there. The line was about 20 deep and he charged $20. I found some designs for a possible Vikings/Gophers stadium that never happened. 5 bucks each, mounted on white board. Grabbed all 5. Lots of decoys and fishing reels still left over.

We, the wifey and our two boys, will be going to the NDSU game vs Incarnate Word for tailgating and a National Championship banner raising. Then NDSU versus Montana the next weekend. Then September 27th I will be going to watch Division III St Johns trial to take on St Thomas.

Colts are beatable especially with their poor run D. They have struggled with the last two teams and both teams have had poor QB play. Romo in December? Last time I checked Cowboys were a team and those failures before were because of poor play by the team and not a single player.

We were waiting after practice to talk to him- noticed Vikings like Wally Hildenburg talking to fans. Page came out to his car, wouldn't talk to anyone. One woman who was persistent told me that he had said he would sign after practice. "Nope, no autographs!" as he got into his purple car and drove off.

I have a picture of me with him (and the entire purple people eaters) and an autograph of his when I was 8 or 9 at the training camp.

They just stormed passed everyone going across the street from the stadium to the locker rooms area and they snuck out the back side. On the flip side Cris Carter, Jake Reed, Randy Moss, etc... were all GREAT at interacting with fans.

Moss's rookie year he collected about 10-15 hats that people wanted autographed and he just put all of them on his head and walked away. There was a staffer that kept track of all of the hats he took and they were brought back with signed by CC, Moss and Reed

Last Friday I was in St Cloud for the NSIC baseball playoffs. Today I am going back for the junior college Region 13 baseball playoffs. Tomorrow I plan on going to Sioux Falls to watch MSU-Mankato in the region baseball playoffs. If I feel like it on Friday I'll go to the Twin Cities to watch the Gopher women host the regional.
