Jackie Robinson's legacy and impact was celebrated at Shea Stadium on April 15 as all players, coaches and personnel on the Mets and Nationals donned No. 42 at New York's Shea Stadium in honor of the 61st anniversary of the Brooklyn Dodger breaking the game's color barrier. It was an act repeated by many at the 14 other ballparks that saw action.

That's funny, the Cardinals announcers were talking about it and they made it sound like they were doing it out of the goodness of their heart, made no mention at all of it being mandated.

I forgot which game I was watching Tuesday Night, but the announcers said it was indeed MLB mandated

The Twins announcers mentioned last night that it was Ken Griffey Jr that sent a note to the commissioner to suggest everyone where #42 on Jackie Robinson day.

I have to imagine most MLB players see this as a good measure, especially since it is only for one game, regardless of whether MLB required it or not.
