I know I know, this is more likely not to happen then it is to happen, but the possibility at least exists.

When the final whistle blows next February ending the Super Bowl, New England could hold more then a handful of Championships at one time...

Currently teams from New England are reigning Champs of the following:

NBA: Boston Celtics (They will need to repeat to join this equation though)
NCAA Hockey: Boston University
NCAA Women's Basketball: Connecticut Huskies

Teams from New England have atleast a decent chance to capture Championships in the following sports leading up to next years Super Bowl:

NBA: Boston Celtics
NHL: Boston Bruins
MLB: Boston Red Sox
MLS: New England Revolution (Texas Terror would disagree that even a chance exists for the Revs)
NCAA Football: Massachusetts Minutemen, New Hampshire Wildcats, Maine Black Bears (all should be competitive in 2009 and at least leave an outside shot at a title)
NFL: New England Patriots
AHL: Hartford Wolf Pack, Providence Bruins, Portland Pirates, Worcester Sharks
MiLB: Any number of New England base teams will compete for titles.

The scenario though that I am looking at, that is mentioned in the title... Could it happen? Could New England hold all four major professional titles at one time?

Its possible... the toughest one could be the Celtics, none will be easy. But its fun to think about.... at least if your a Boston Sports Fan.

I am trying to run this scenario for North Carolina sports teams....

NBA: Charlotte Bobcats (Missed the playoffs)
NHL: Carolina Hurricanes (#6 seed in the east, fair chance to win the cup)
MLB: No team (Maybe the Braves could count)
MLS: No team (Maybe DC United could count)
USL-1: Carolina Railhawks (Missed the playoffs by 2 points)
USL-2: Charlotte Eagles (Regualr Season Champions Playoff Runner Up)
NCAA Football: Appalachian State (AE will give them a chance)
NCAA Basketball: UNC (Current champions)
NFL: Carolina Panthers (Playoff team last seaon)

Well I just ran this scenario for Texas and here is what I found:

NFL Football:
Dallas Cowboys xlolx .... no? xsmhx
Houston Texans xlolx ....no? xsmhx

NBA Basketball
Spurs: too many injuries to make it far in the playoffs
Rockets: Probably the best team in state right now, but they are inconsistant.
Mavericks: Good team, but I don't see them doing much in the playoffs.

MLB Baseball:
Texas Rangers: no..... just no......
Houston Astros: This is the year! Right? No.....?

NHL Hockey:
Dallas Stars: decent this year, but not great. More exciting than the Cowboys.

NCAA FBS Football:
UT should still have a good shot next year. Aside from them, not so much.

NCAA FCS Football:
TXST has had the best playoff run of any SLC in recent times.

NCAA Basketball:
No team from Texas has made it past the elite eight anytime in recent memory.

NCAA Baseball:
TXST is in command of the SLC right now. We have an outside shot at regionals this year, and we've actually been able to either beat or play the ranked teams in a close game.

Not me.

By the way, yesterday was the 12 year anniversary of the final Whalers game in Hartford.

I remember it like it was yesterday....Sunday, April 13, 1997....Whalers 2, Lightning 1....Kevin Dineen with the game winner.
