How about Isiah Thomas to the Sun Belt??? Talk about a step down (sorry TT) on the coaching ladder.

SBC is going to be interesting...between Jarvis (FAU), Brady (ASU) and now Thomas...heck, we also have YouTube "legend" Arrow (USA)...

This league gets tougher and tougher. It may end up being a two-bid league year-in and year-out before you know it if this kind of coach continues to come into the league. They had two bids in 2008 (WKU, USA). We'll see what the future brings...

A source said Thomas was intrigued by FIU's location in South Florida, its growing football program and the size of its student body (more than 30,000).

Absolutely! But honestly, his expectations have to be pretty low for the first 2-3 years on the job and he gets to spend his free time in South Beach vs The Big Apple. Not a bad deal at all if you ask me!

In all honesty, those should perks should (in theory), when combined with Thomas' presence, make it easier to recruit.

He started moving quickly to fill his roster: Thomas started recruiting Tuesday night, only a few hours after arriving in South Florida.
