Field turf, a new scoreboard, and a locker room overhaul highlight this year's slate. I've heard from some unofficial places that other things may be happening in the not-to-distant future as well. For now here's a few links to what's happening with EKU football facilities...

When we palyed there is 2005, I thought the actual stadium was pretty neat. The locker rooms at least for the visiting team were horrible although. The fact that we came out right where your student section sits was pretty cool and got us pumped up real good with the amount of "hate" they were spewing.

Yeah, we got pretty nasty in the student section sometimes, but it would be better if all of the students sat in those stands rather than some of them congregating on the berm behind the north endzone.

I've never been in either lockeroom, but I've heard the visitors one is not good. This whole plan is an odd reversal. Just two years ago when Danny Hope was still head coach he had the Presnell practice facility rennovated...including both the locke room and installing field turf. He wanted to keep the stadium as natural grass, and it makes sense to rennovate the practice locker room first given that the one in the stadium is only used five or six days a year.

However, when Hope left for Purdue Dean Hood came in and embraced the idea of field turf at the stadium...which obviously means they can practice there too. The practice facility is being turned over to intramurals, but I think they brought a lot of the stuff from the rennovation to the home locker room in Roy Kidd Stadium.

It isn't but I've seen a whole lot worse.

So if you are with Liberty and have been in the visitor's locker room does that mean you were present/playing on the night Coach Kidd got win #300? Incidently that was the only home game in four years as a student that I did not attend, and one of only two that I've missed in the last 8 years.

I was there. Obviously, I wasn't happy about the score but seeing the EKU fans tear down the goalposts and carry the coach off the field was pretty special.

The press box will hold more than the stadium. That's like putting a spoiler on a 1986 Honda. :D

WCU went to EKU 2 years ago and I fell in love with Roy Kidd Stadium. Cannot wait to go back this year.

We called the route up to the press box the Ramp of Death (thanks to Rick Covington for that rather descriptive line).

I remember a playoff game there back in 1991. The rain was very heavy and the connections for our coaches headphones got flooded out before the 1st quarter was finished. The field didn't drain well and was a pond by the end of the game. Congratulations on the upgrades!

That 1991 game was a masterpiece for what I remember (too many B & C's). Cannot wait to see the finished product.
