The 26th is even later than recent Spring Games.

Anyway, because of the flood, the state of moving target called Bison spring football practice is this: it's been delayed until April 26. It was the smart move considering the facility problem and another flood crest looming. No official word yet on the spring game, or if it's even going to be played.
The coaches are paranoid about the late spring. They are creatures of habit after all and any significant change in the routine is like a voodoo doll with a knife in it. I don't think Craig Bohl would ever say it, but the fear now is Iowa State is not going to care about a flood and the Bison won't be where they want to be by the time of the opener. The fear is that game could get ugly.
It's a long way off, but coaches get paid to look ahead. The key is if this young team grows up quickly and learns the system. In terms of practice days, the opener is closer than it seems.
