Tiger Woods or the Field?

I'll always take Tiger against the field. Not the numbers bet though. Even though this stat is amazing, he only wins 30% of the time he plays. xeekx

Time for Sergio to lose the moniker "best player to never win a Major"?

It's a Master's tradition for the players to skip a ball on the pond guarding #16.
Vijay skips a hole in one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GKSJOSsExE)
Went to the practice round on Monday. Not many top name players on the course. Tiger usually plays very early, he skipped, but caught him on the driving range with Hank Haney later in the day.
Was hoping to see the older guys like Fred Couples and Greg Norman, but the windy conditions may of kept them inside.

From 1923-30, Bobby Jones won 13 of 21 Major Tournaments he entered. xbowx
Tiger may be on the verge of something along these lines or better.

Lost in Tigermainia is the fact that Padraig is going for his 3rd consecutive Major. :)

Chad Campbell, formerly known as the field is leading at -9

I would say that it's "lost" because Tiger wasn't there for the first two. But an impressive feat nonetheless.

Tiger wouldn't have done very good limping around the course on crutches. :p

Tiger 7 strokes back heading into 3rd round.
Was hoping Fred Couples and Greg Norman make the cut.
Other notables that missed the cut:
Ernie Els
Retief Goosen
Stewart Cink
Justin Leonard (prick. I'm glad he missed)
Zach Johnson
Surprised they made the cut:
Larry Mize
Sandy Lyle
Anthony Kim (scrapes a 75 First Round, comes back with a 65, 11 birdies)
Nothing but Class:
Gary Player. Played in his 52nd Masters at the age of 72. He doesn't look a day over 60.

Looks like it's Kenny Perry, Chad Campbell, and Angel Cabrera going for it unless someone has a great round tomorrow.

Kenny Perry has three solid rounds. Only 4 bogeys.
79% greenies and hitting fairways at a 78% clip, and not shy hitting the drive on some tight holes.
Tiger needs to go real low and the top three guys have a major meltdown. Don't think it's gonna happen.

Well, "The Field" wins it. Tiger finishes at -8, Phil at -9.

Looks like Perry has it. I'm not going to go out on a limb because of the Hockey finals yesterday, but I will say Perry deserves it. He's been the most consistent player this week. And even then, he's missed a few birdie putts. Quite remarkable.

Good thing you didn't go out on a limb. He now has a 1 in 3 chance to win it.

Great Masters to watch on TV. I thought Cabrera was toast when he played out of the woods and hit a tree, on the first playoff hole.

Watching Michelson missing on 3' and 4' putts, and watching Woods and Cabrera bouncing their shots off trees really helped me relate more.
Granted, my 3' and 4' putts that I miss aren't ever for birdies or eagles, and I spend more time in the trees than the squirrels. But still......

Yes, I can relate too. Both players opted to gambe on their shots versus playing it safe like we are taught. Of course they had more to gain from their gamble than the average Joe on the golf course.

Yeah, the "average Joe on the golf course" is mostly concerned with not driving the cart into a pond in a drunken stupor (at least at the course where I worked). xlolx
