I hate the NBA, but I am a fan of anything playoffs and standings watching. The standing in the two divisions is mind boggling.

Basically in the East you have Cleveland, Boston and Orlando, then a big drop-off to everyone else who is not the Wizards. The Whiz are in a league of their own.

Then in the West, there's a big drop after the Lakers who are by FAR the class of the West, 2-8 are a toss-up and Phoenix is hanging on for dear life at 9. Then there is a FOURTEEN game drop down to the rest of the scrubs. xnutsx

Cleveland 62-15
LA Lakers 61-16
Boston 58-19
Orlando 57-19
Denver 52-26
San Antonio 49-27
Houston 49-28
Portland 48-28
New Orleans 47-29
Utah 47-30
Dallas 46-31
Atlanta 43-34
Phoenix 42-35
Miami 41-36
Philadelphia 40-36
Chicago 37-40
Detroit 37-40
Charlotte 34-43
Indiana 33-44
New Jersey 32-45
Milwaukee 32-46
Toronto 30-46
New York 30-47
Golden State 28-49
Memphis 22-54
Minnesota 22-55
Oklahoma City 21-55
LA Clippers 18-59
Washington 18-60
Sacramento 16-60

BTW, the East is 229-215 vs the West this year.

Well there's 12 wins for each Eastern team, Wiz excluded, against the 6 bottom feeders in the West.

Maybe, maybe not... the Magic are tied in the loss column for second seed in the east, which means home court in the second round of the projected Boston/Orlando seeding.

They may very well have something to play even then, which means Dwight Howard will have his customary 30/15/5 game against Charlotte and that bodes poorly for the 'Cats.

Sacramento may have a LOT to say about that. :)

Blazers clinched a playoff spot, ending the longest current drought in the NBA (six years). Now if we can get home court. A win tonight against San Antonio could go a long way (7 pm Eastern on ESPN). The city is already buzzing for the Laker game on Friday. Can't wait to hear the reaction in the Rose Garden when that punk Ariza steps on the court. A chorus of boos ringing mercilessly from the Rose Garden rafters for Kobe, Ariza and Phil as we put another Portland whipping on the Lakers.

The Knicks s*ck...they are very much helping the Bobcats stay out of the playoffs...
