Getting reved up to head down to CBP tonight for the Opening Ceremonies and the first game of the year. Looking forward to another exciting season.

I went to the exhibition game Friday night and the fans gave Pat Burrell a great reception. Looked to me as if he was fighting back some tears. Phillies played a video of some career highlights from his signing to last fall's World Series. Laminated 81/2 x 11 card of Pat's career stats and some photos were the handout to everyone. During BP, Pat came over and was signing autographs for people who were tossing clothing and Sharpies down to him. All in all a nice night (plus the Phils pulled the game out in the bottom of the ninth, 3-2). Blanton looked pretty good for the 6 innings he worked.

It would be great if both teams could get a loss tonight. :-)

Signed,
Mets Fan

All kidding aside I can't wait for this season to start. All the statistical projections have the Phillies, Mets & Braves at the top of the NL East in various orders of finish and not more than a few games apart. It should be a good one.

Too bad Hamels isn't going tonight. Hamels-Lowe would've been a great opening night pitching matchup.

Even still, I can't wait. Baseball is almost here!

Lowe is cruising so far in his Braves debut. No runs and only one hit through the 4th.

Phillies made it interesting in the 9th against Mike Gonzalez, but the Braves win 4-1.

Final line for Lowe:

8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K (97 pitches)

Loving Schafer! Cox needs to hit him lead off though.

Braves are back in first place (hopefully it will last longer than a day).
