J. D. Kappeler joins McNeese State football coaching staff

J. D. Kappeler, a graduate of the University of South Dakota, has joined McNeese State as an assistant football coach.

He completed his collegiate career at South Dakota, playing free safety on the 2004 squad that posted a 9-2 record and finished 19th in the final FCS polls.

I know South Dakota was not FCS in 2004 - was South Dakota State?

Good to see FCS grads ending up at FCS institutions for coaching jobs.
