Eagles looking to defense in effort to return to FCS playoffs

STATESBORO — The playoff field for the FCS has been expanded to 20 teams this fall.

That obviously creates a lot more opportunities for fringe schools like Georgia Southern.

Did this writer not get the memo? 20 teams in 2009? More like 2010...expect better from someone covering the six-time Div I champion Georgia Southern Eagles...

Hopefully, we won't need the extra four spots. With Henton gone and Chappele's emergence as the starter, the offense will put up lots of points. Hopefully the defense will help out.
