Linebacker Marcellus Speaks has been training to run a 4.5-second 40-yard dash in front of NFL scouts at JSU's Pro Day today. The Jackson native admits he has never hit that number, but that remains the goal.
"Everybody talks about I'm slow and this and that," Speaks said. "Just show them I'm not slow. I'm a football player, man. I can run."
Speaks was named 2008 SWAC defensive player of the year and ranked No. 18 in the nation with 10.17 tackles a game.
Any word? His pro day was a few days ago.
