Four competing for QB job at Old Dominion

The Daily Press finishes its look at a few spring questions facing local and state football programs. Today, Old Dominion:

1Can the Monarchs post a winning record in their first season of FCS football?

ODU opens the season Sept. 5 against Chowan, coming off a 2-8 record and one of two Football Championship Subdivision schools on a Monarchs schedule that also includes Campbell, which went 1-10 in its first year of football since 1950, and Savannah State, which hasn’t had a winning season since joining Division I-AA in 2000. So a plus-.500 record out of the gate is not out of the realm of possibility for a team with a redshirt year of practice under its belt.
