Lions Set For Annual Spring Game On Saturday

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s football team will close out an intense month of workouts on Saturday when it holds its annual Spring Game beginning at noon in Strawberry Stadium.

The scrimmage is open to the public. The final workout of spring practice will feature the Southeastern offense against the Lion defense in four, 15-minute running quarters with the defense being spotted 22 points.

I know the scoring format was not mentioned, but was it a good idea to spot 22 points to the Lions' defense? With Newbill and Connors, that may be an unfair advantage and the defense would need a Houston Oilers-type collapse to lose the game!

The offense feels they can put points on the board in a hurry (first half at SFA, fourth quarter at Nicholls) ... should be fun to watch with Babin, Zeke Jones and all those receivers.
