Now generations to come can realize what a massive tool Tim Tebow truly was.

He says "you will never see any player" -- that doesnt even make sense, and now its on a plaque.

I just dont like him and his christian preaching crap. He is one of the greatest college players ever, but as a person he is a tool.

Yea, that going to the Phillipans on spring break and talking to elementary and high schools...real tool. xrolleyesx

I've never seen him as that preachy. I think the media makes a bigger deal out of it than he does.

Its that fact that he takes a camera and media with him when he does such things-- "look at me I doing charity work in the Phillipines".

I don't understand the hate either. I don't really pay attention to what he does off the field though. I'd like to see him do a jump pass for the redskins.

I've only seen a couple of clips of him doing that kind of stuff.

One was a prison ministry he led in Florida that ESPN covered I think during one of the championship games and another was some photos he took of a trip to visit his siblings (who are missionaries) for ESPN The Magazine "Athletes Take Over" edition. Both times stories regarding personal lives of other athletes were included.

So, do you have a problem with ESPN covering personal lives of other athletes, or just Christians doing their thing?

There may be other examples, but my point is that most of the time, it's not just the media covering Tim Tebow in any special way, it's the media covering the personal life of an athlete that happens to be Christian and practicing Christianity. If he was doing anything else, he'd be a phoney.

YA that sweet-- he probably doesnt even tag that because of his beliefs-- I think God would understand.

We have a difference of opinion, but the coverage of Tebow and his works have been excessive. He is doing some quality things off the field and that is great, he is a good guy and role model. But its enough--

I don't know that we have a difference of opinion or not (assuming you were talking to me).

I think you're saying that the coverage of Tebow is excessive. I can agree with that. I think most coverage of athlete's personal lives is excessive.

But, I don't think that makes him a tool or hateable (not a word) any more than it makes any other athlete a tool or hateable who is popular with the media. Now, if your opinion is that he's a tool and hateable because he'a s a Christian that gets covered a lot, we do have a difference of opinion.

I think he's a tool and hateable because he plays at Florida. :D

Tebow is cool...I just didn't like how everybody was ready to push Chris Leak out the door as soon as Tebow arrived.

I don't like Tebow.

And, I don't know why Florida would want to commemorate their loss to Ole Miss with a plaque. xlolx

That does seem odd. xrotatehx

I guess they would say they are commemorating his speech that spurred them to the national championship, but the fact is that without the loss, there's no speech.

Didn't the arrival of Chris Leak push Ingle Martin out the door?

well considering it's an FCS forum and the FBS was brought up it's bound to happen.
