Who's it going to be?
There is no doubt as to what the big question is as Sam Houston State opened spring football practice Wednesday afternoon at Bowers Stadium.
Who is going to replace All-Southland Conference quarterback Rhett Bomar? Bearkat fans have been wondering about this for months.

This is a great chance for the two signal callers still on the Bearkat roster to get a chance before the coaching staff. While SHSU is adding the UH transfer QB, the amount of repetitions are needed for both QBs, as I do not believe they got too many this past year with Bomar behind center.
Any thoughts on which of these two QBs will emerge as the No. 1 QB at the completion of the spring?

There is word that Sam Houston State could be the landing place for former University of Houston quarterback Blake Joseph, who recently left the Cougars’ program.
Joseph started five games for the Cougars two years ago under then-head coach Art Briles, throwing for 1,324 yards and nine touchdowns. After Briles left for Baylor last season, Joseph lost his starting job.
Joseph is supposed to graduate this spring and would have one year of eligibility left if he transfers.
“We got the appropriate paperwork from the University of Houston for Blake Joseph and that is just where we are right now,” Whitten said. “That’s all we can say.”Heeeeeeeeere we go...

SE,
Hit or miss? Will this be Josh McCown, Rhett Bomar, Chris Chalpouka or Dustin Long all over again? Or will it be Vance Smith, Ben Huard (though he never saw the field), Noah Allen, etc?
Unlike the ones who worked out - Joseph really has not gotten much playing time at UH. He's apparently very solid off the field and someone who could end up being a coach for the Bearkats after he graduates, because he's apparently got a high football IQ.
