Seth Curry, the high-scoring younger brother of Davidson star Stephen Curry, says he is transferring out of Liberty to seek a higher level of competition.

Curry, 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, led the nation's freshman with a 20.2 scoring average.

Liberty went 23-12 this season, finishing with an 88-65 loss to James Madison on Monday night in the CollegeInsider.com tournament. Curry scored eight points in the loss.

This feels like dating the cute flat chested girl with braces and glasses that was a little bit "ehh" your freshman year in high school then she dumps you junior year for the quarterback when she loses the braces, gets contacts, and is a C-cup.

He just doesn't want to make the same mistake his brother made (go to a crappy school, get big numbers, have doubters cause you play 14 teams with a 200+ RPI each year).

Good move for young Curry.

Hopefully after the game against us he considers JMU a higher level of competition.

Maybe Brady was doing a little "in game" recruiting...

Maybe your girls weren't giving it up enough. :p

I'm surprised that the big schools (namely VaTech) made the same mistake with seth that the did with steph.. I feel bad for the flames though. But maybe he just wasn't buying into the Liberty Way

When I read the topic title I thought you were referring to Stephen. I thought "well that's odd to wait so long to do it."

Nah, it's purely a "NBA Future" move. Kid was clean here and fit in to the rules.

Looking to go to the ACC from what I've heard, so you Monarchs, Wildcats, and Dukes can give up all hope on this one. :P

Sighting a need for a higher level of competition, Seth Curry plans to transfer to a "higher rated conference". One has to think that he looked at what his brother has accomplished at Davidson and decided he wanted a little more help and a stronger chance at making the Big Dance every year.

Let the rumor mill begin on where he'll land! IMO he'll strongly look at a few ACC schools (Clemson, Wake, VT, Virginia).

Davidson is a "crappy school"? By what definition?

A Davidson basketball team without Curry is a "crappy school"

I can't judge the comedic tone of your statement but I assume it's there.

The mass media and the vast majority of the college basketball watching fans consider anything non-BCS as being "crappy". I don't agree, but the perception is what it is, and it is very real.

I certainly would agree that the loss of Curry would negatively impact their basketball team, they might even hit the level of crappy, but I think it would take a lot more than that to make Davidson a crappy school.

Don't know if you were joking or not, but yea, you are exactly right. Once Curry is gone, Davidson will be just as sorry as they were before (at basketball).
