Parker Executive Search will work directly with the University’s search committee, chaired by David Brond, vice president for communications & marketing. The search committee also includes: Bonnie Kenny, UD volleyball head coach, Joseph McGrail, a 1987 UD graduate and four-year letter winner in Football, Matt Robinson, assistant professor of sports management, and Monica Taylor, vice president of development & alumni relations.Wonder what henners think about this?

The consensus on GoHens is that this is a good thing. While many really like the current deputy AD Oravitz and feel he is the logical successor, the vast majority don't want just another good ole' boy hand-me-down hire and welcome outside help with bringing the UD athletic department into the 21st century. We rode the coattail of Dave Nelson for 50 years and now it's time to hire somebody to grab the reins and make Delaware a true powerhouse again, even in sports beside football. We're a great university, the state's flagship institution, in a state where UD is the only thing that really matters sportswise, and we deserve someone that views the program as such. We welcome a national search to find the person to bring the vision, energy, and fundraising savvy to do this for us.
