The crowd is fantastic and the team is off to a hot start. I need to move to the northeast. FC Dallas support is weak, although Houston Dynamo is pretty good and fun.

Congrats Sounders!
Should we expect another no-show by the Revs when it matters most? ;)
GO DYNAMO! The only MLS team that showed up in the CCL!

Whats crazy is the Montreal team from USL that did so good in the CCL and had 50,000+ fans show up to the game.

Wonder how the MLS will go about things as it is obvious that Montreal and St Louis both are worthy of entry into the league...FIFA does not want the league to expand beyond 18 and this country is not ready for promotion/relegation.
A single-table with 18 teams may be the way to go, unless you want to produce three-six team divisions...which I think you can do without hurting the rivalries too much.
I am glad they cut back on the amount of over-participation in international tournaments. May help the Dynamo or one of the other MLs squads who have done something in the postseason as of late (oh wait, none have) actually win these critical competitions to the growth of the league.

MLS commissioner Don Garber was in Vancouver today to announce Vancouver's inclusion as the 17th team in MLS, but he also revealed an interesting nugget on MLS expansion. Garber revealed that MLS plans to expand to 20 teams by 2012. Yes, you read that right. Major League Soccer is planning to add two more teams the year after adding two teams. That's four teams in two years and a total of six new MLS teams in four years. With Portland looking like the pick to be team 18 (rumors are circulating that an announcement is coming on Friday) that means we can start focusing on the candidates for the next round of expansion. Who is in the mix? St. Louis and Ottawa are obviously in the mix, but so too is Montreal, which will have to re-consider the decision to stay in USL-1 now that Vancouver is on the way to MLS. Then there is Miami, which may have lost FC Barcelona as an investor but still has billionaire Marcelo Claure.

Ottawa has failed in everything...They lost their CFL team TWICE, and they lost their hockey team before getting it back, and I hear thay are in financial hell and in jeopardy of losing them again

There have been talks of going to a single table.
As for out of league tourneys I'm a fan of CCL, SuperLiga, and US Open Cup. The Open Cup is a good way for soccer to be exposed to the smaller teams in the USL and below. The MLS teams that participate benefit by playing their reserves giving them game time experience. The CCL and SuperLiga are good for international recognition and scouting. It makes it easier to get great players form Latin and South American to come here and play in the MLS.
