Start in 2011. Good for them. They will be a great addition to the new Seattle team.

Every time I drive by the new Red Bulls stadium I ask myself the exact same question: How in the world do they have the money to build this:

Expected by whom? St. Louis more than meets the expansion criteria.

Not true. LA Galaxy, FC Dallas, and Toronto FC made a profit with other improving. The key is to have a soccer specific stadium which helps FCD and TFC.
The new Red Bull stadium will only help them.
Seattle has sold 22,000 season tickets. Thats making money.

Its a strong rumors floating around the internet. I've seen St. Louis plan but some say it came too late, the Anheuser-Busch backing helps though. The MLS Commish said at the Vancouver announcement today that they expect to expand to two more teams in 2012. I bet St, Louis gets it then.

Seattle/Vancouver could turn into a very cool rivalry, given enough time.

On the USL level Seattle/Vancouver/Portland have their popular derby going on. If all three have MLS teams it would be great.

I surprised. They have a nice stadium. Teams like Dallas struggle with attendance but make up money with the soccer complex and field around the main stadium. Putting the stadium in Frisco north of Dallas hurts but they will do fine.

Several teams are turning a profit and others are breaking even. That's not bad for a league that's a little over ten years old.
