Louisiana Native Petitto Rejoins SLU Staff

Southeastern Louisiana University head football coach Mike Lucas announced Monday that Amite native Sam Petitto has been named as an assistant football coach.

All sorts of coaches - both old vets and young up and comers - with quality resumes moving into the SLC. I really think this league is going to get back where it was on the national map. That may be hopeful thinking, but I believe it..

Petitto was a good assistant for us at Grambling... he was definitely a good recruiter and talent evaluator. Signed some good kids for us... several of them were starters last season and became all-conference players. Spears and Petitto were were aggressive recruiters... and established lots of contacts for getting players. Southeastern made a good hire as he was a good on the field coach...but where he's really gonna make yall happy is in the recruiting of talent. When he was at Grambling, he set up satellite Summer Football Camps for Grambling in various inner city areas that we recruited.
