The Mountain Hawks will travel down the "Blue Route" Sunday afternoon to take on the Wildcats at a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. Lehigh will be without star point guard Joe Knight who is ineligible until next semester due to a screw up on number of transferable credits applicable to the this fall. Not that it would make a huge difference, but with both sharpshooters ((Olivero the other) available I thought we'd have a least a shot of giving 'nova a good game. Looks like another 'learning experience' for the regular season...

You coming down, ngineer? I saw that item on your PG, that's a tough break. Our guards are tought to match-up with anyway, and being shorthanded in the backcourt is a recipe for a blowout.

No, won't be at the 'Pavillon'--Sunday nights are actually a work night for me, but I'll have the game on the radio in the office. I hope we give you a good game. Taylor's scheduled a rough OOC for us. Lehigh was out at a tourney in Wyoming last week and lot to Northwestern by 2, but did beat Coppin St. who I've heard is decent at b-ball. B-ball has always been a weak sister sport at Lehigh behind Wrestling and Football, but I like our coach--he has made us competitive in the three years he's been here. Won't be surprised if he's lured away...I always pull for the Big 5 schools--grew up outside of Philly when the Goukas brothers were at St. Joes, Billy Melchionni at 'nova, Les Keiter doing the play by play from the Palestra..

Ah, yes, ngineer, those were the days. What every Philly sports fan wanted in the 60s was "less" Keiter!

As expected. 84-47 Villanova. Glad I didn't bother making the trip. Sounds as if the team didn't bother much, either

Lehigh played hard and gave Villanova a much better game than Stony Brook (though the score doesn't show it). Villanova was just on fire from 3 (school-record 17 made). Your team got lured into a bit of a running game in the first half, which was an unfortunate decision. :spank:

Yeah, guess I jumped to conclusions from the score, but the newspaper account did say Lehigh played hard, but we cannot get into a run 'n gun game, plus 'nova shot like 60% from 3 point land! Incredible.
