Post anything related to NFL Free Agency in this thread. I guess I probably could have titled this thread: "LOL Redskins" instead but you get the gist.
Been a busy 9 hours so far:
- Albert Haynesworth signs a $100MM/7 year ($41MM guaranteed) deal with the Redskins. He will get paid $32MM over the course of the first 13 months of the deal. If the union and the NFL reach and agreement on a new CBA before then and next year does indeed have a salary cap the Redskins roster in 2010 will be: Albert Haynesworth, DeAngelo Hall and 50 other players you've never heard of.
- DeAngelo Hall re-signs with the Redskins for $54MM/6 years ($23MM guaranteed). LOL. Who exactly were the Redskins bidding against for his services? Terrible signing.
- Patriots sign Fred Taylor. Can't find contract details yet, but I'm sure they got him on the cheap. Another good move by the Pats (do they ever make bad moves?). Taylor will fit in nicely with the RB by committee approach they have up there.
- Jets re-sign FB, Tony Richardson. This deal was $800k/1 year. What's not to like? Yeah, he's old...but he's still one of the best blocking full backs in the league.
- Vikings trade a 4th round draft choice to the Texans for Rosenfels and then gave him a $9MM/2 year extension. He'll compete with Jackson for starting QB. My guess is he wins that competition.
- Jeff Saturday re-ups for three years with the Colts. He'll finish his career in Indy.

As a Jet fan I'm refreshing various Jets Blogs every few minutes. Haha. Bart Scott + David Harris on the inside is going to be pretty damn good. Now if only Rex can teach Gholston how to play football the Jets would then be stacked with LB's: Scott, Harris, Pace, Thomas, Gholston, etc.

Looks like it's official. Bart Scott is now a Jet. $40million/5 years.
Also looks like the Pats just signed TE Chris Baker who was released by the Jets last week.

Y'all missed the biggest one.
Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin now.
OOPS- Sorry- I missed it in your first post!
Now all they need is to sign Ray-Ray away from our friends in "Balmer" and they may actually be a threat.

In a desperate attempt to land a quarterback of some worth, the Vikings have signed O'Donnell.

Winslow just got traded to Tampa for draft picks.
I fear the Hainesworth deal is going to be Stubblefield II. Play great for a season and a half and realize he has $40M in the bank. Not much to motivate.
I like the Hall re-signing.
RayRay would be a fool to leave Baltimore. His act aint going to work in another city. He's a god here, but just another loud mouth somewhere else. Plus he's only got a season or two left. He fell off severely week 16-17 and the post season.

Great. Instead of signing a leader like Ray Lewis, Jerrah signs a washed up Brookin instead! There goes another year without a playoff win.

Looks like ole Ray Ray over played his hand here. LOL
I think Ozzie Newsome should knock the offer down from $17M guarrenteed to $10M. Just for bad mouthing the only team and city that worships him.

TJ Housherdaddy is about to decide between returning to Cincy, or bolting to Minnesota or Seattle.
Reportedly:
1) Cincinatti has the best offer on the table at 5 years $35M with $11M guaranteed.
2) Both Minnesota and Seattle are offering 3 year deals with Seattle's offer slightly better.
3) Minnesota is Housh's preference but at 32 he may stick with the financial stability of Cincy's offer.
In related news, the Vikings continue to attempt to prop up the QB position rather than fix it.
EDIT: TJ flew out of the twin cities this morning headed for LA, Seattle may not be out of it yet either.

The Vikings need to give up on trying to find a QB.
They need to trade for a QB or a high pick to grab a QB.

Housh stayed over night in Minnesota last night, leading people to think he's a Viking. Housh or not, and as much as it hurts a Packer fan to say this, the Vikings are my early pick to win the Super Bowl. xoopsx

Rosenfeld is just what they needed. He is an upgrade from Ferrotte and Jackson. With Rosenfeld throwing to Berrian and Housh, Peterson running the ball and the best run defense in the league, they are pretty well set.

If Housh lands in MN Rosenfeld is a temp fix, but I don't see him being the franchise guy.

Minnesota also talked to Denver about Cutler, and latest news is that Housh didn't stay in Minnesota last night, and is in LA working on another deal.

they need to trade some for Cutler (maybe Tavaris).. that would be perfect for the Vikes but for some reason I don't see it happening.

There was talk of Cutler in Denver/New England trade talks for Cassel. Denver's new coach was at New England with Cassel. Cutler found out and isn't coming out of his room and talking to anyone.

Cutler is a little overrated, IMO. I think Tyler Thigpen got the shaft. He is a nice QB on a team full of scrubs. I would love to have him on the Skins so we could get rid of sorry Jason Candle.

I think Campbell could be a good QB, but if Zorn is going to force him to play his west coast offense, they might as well trade him.

The NY Ravens (Jets)
Haha. It's beginning to look that way. But really it's only been Bart Scott and now Leonhard. Maybe Ivy gets added to the mix. I like what the Jets have done so far. They overpaid a little for Scott but now with Leonhard and the trade with the Eagles for Sheppard they've brought in 3 brand new starters (and definite upgrades) on defense.
Scott is light years better than Barton. Leonhard is a better player than Abram Elam. Sheppard (even though he's slipped the last two years) is still a better player than your choice of Lowery/Poteat/Law/Coleman. The Jets also protected themselves very well with the Lito trade. If it turns out he's a bust they only lose their 5th this year. Definitely worth the gamble.

If he comes down the BW Parkway and takes 495 to the Dulles Toll Road out to Ashburn, I think their would be some people in this city and Metropolitan "uhrrrea" (since I have been making fun of your "Balmer" colloquiallisms, I thought I would make fun of the DC ones as well;)), that would worship him.
PS- I ain't mad at Ozzie, though. Frat is a great GM, and I wish him only continued success.

Agreed they have upgraded the D. Just need a QB now but if they make this a waste year and try to develop one, I have no problem with that. Just don't know who that person is.
I included the 3 Baltimore defensive coaches as well in my list of people have come over from Bmore.

Giants signed S C.C. Brown (Texans) and TE Lee Vickers
Brown should make the team, and gives us a bit more depth at that position
Vickers was a street FA, waived by the Ravens in the preseason last year, and will likely be used as camp depth in August
