As of this past month, UNI baseball has until April 5th to raise $1.2 million in order to avoid the program being cut.

Most of you have no experience or affiliation with UNI, but if you would like to save one of two DI baseball programs in the state of Iowa, I ask you to visit the site below to gain information on how you can help or pledge money.

How does this $1.2M save the program? Seems like the $1.2M would keep the program afloat for two years. Then what? Any explanation on where this monetary figure came from? Just curious if there are articles out there.

It is what AD Troy Dannen said it would take for 3 years of baseball. He will accept no less than that

Thanks for the explanation...

UNI would have to keep the fundraising up or get the students to pass an athletic fee increase of some sort.

$1.2M is no easy task and this blow already may be too much for the UNI program to withstand.

That is the problem. Yes, UNI gets to keep the program if that mark is hit, but how freaking hard is it going to be for UNI to recruit or be successful with that cloud over their heads every single day. I don't want to see the program go, but I don't want to see them be basement dwellers and not compete just for the sake of having the program.

Well, we are already pretty much basement dwellers that don't compete.

We have had some decent years, but we are not a good team.

Think about how bad it would get with not knowing if you have 4 years to play though.

Yeah, but a bad team is better than no team. Hopefully with time we could convince recruits to come back.
