I was with a friend in Tempe last Saturday watching football at the greatest sports bar EVER:
The Tilted Kilt (http://www.tiltedkilt.com/)
That's it, when my fiance and I get married, we're moving to Tempe!
:D
It was good times listening to the Michigan fans get drunk and whine too!

Wild Wing on the Market...but best bar period would be Tommy Condon's. Does the Gadfly agree?

We are very spoiled around here. Our entire county is smoke free in bars and restaurants. When I head into the South, where smoking is not only allowed but encouraged :p I can't believe that people can actually eat and drink in these smoke filled places.

89, isn't DC going smoke-free soon?? Maybe 01/06 or 07/06?? I can't wait...
My fav bar in DC is the Ugly Mugg...outside DC, is Southside 815 in Old Town Alexandria, Grevey's in Falls Church, or Buffalo Billiards in Shirlington.

Can't wait either, but to tell you the truth, I don't go out much in DC. Usually stick to Bethesda. Used to play golf with Kevin Grevey, been to his place several times. Favorite in town was probably the Brickskeller.

Any bar that sells cold beer, hot food, the smell of cigarette smoke!!! (To all you non-smokers) Yes believe me, it's bad for your health, but a man told me a long time ago that smoking and drinking went together and like screwing and ***ming. I like waitresses with personalities and who will talk and flirt with you. Yeah, you may not shag her, but as long as you can keep the mental picture in your head for a rainy, boring day, you'll be okay. HA! ;) GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

Tempe, AZ has no-smoking in any bars or restaurants. It was a crippling ordinance because the city borders Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale, none of which have no-smoking ordinances. My fiance was managing a Tempe restaruant/night club near the Mesa line when the ordinance took effect. She said their business plummetted as a result.
If smoking in AZ is to be banned in bars and clubs, it must be county wide. I'm looking forward to the day that Pima County bans smoking. Until then, in Tucson, I go to either the Buffalo Wild Wings on the east side, or Old Chicago, near the UofA, because neither allow smoking inside.

Similar laws here. Minneapolis bans smoking in bars, St Paul bans smoking in bars that serve more food than booze. Most of the suburbs are still smoking. As it would look, Minneapolis bars are losing the most money.
