CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern Head Football Coach Jay Mills has announced the hiring of wide receivers coach Dave Brunner, who has spent the past two seasons at the University of Idaho.
Brunner will replace Jamey Chadwell, who recently accepted the head coaching position at North Greenville University.
As a graduate assistant for the Vandals, Brunner has worked on both sides of the ball, and also worked with the special team units. While there, the punter finished tops in the nation with a 47.4 net average, while the place kicker topped the WAC in net yards and touchback percentage.
Prior to Idaho, Brunner was the head coach at James Island Charter High School from 2004-2007 and had the Lowcountry's top passing offense in 2005 and 2006. His quarterbacks finished in the top-five in the state in attempts, completions, yards and touchdown passes in 2005 and 2006.
