I have to admit, I missed the entire first quarter (don't ask) so I didn't see the ones that are usually the most expensive and I can't do a poll of the best. Whomever is doing the Budweiser spots should lose their job. xnonono2x

I agree. None of those were impressive. Overall, I was disappointed with them. My favorites were probably the Doritos Crystal Ball one (although a shot to the groin is pretty predicatable), PepSuber (pretty good), the Job Site with the moose head (and tail), and the Cash4Gold with MC Hammer and Ed McMahon (maybe my favorite).

My favorite was the Dorito one where the guy crunches into chip #1 and a girl in business attire loses her clothes revealing a hot, underwear-clad body, then he crunches chip #2 and money starts spitting out of an ATM, then a cop comes and he crunches chip #3 and the cop turns into a monkey, then he realizes he's out of chips as he's backing up and he gets run over by a bus.

Agreed about Bud. I heard that Bud, since it was bought out by a foreign company, was concerned about its American image so it decided to go back to its roots with the Clydesdale. I thought the one where the Clydesdale went across the country to get the female horse at the Circus was pretty good for the Bud ones.

My favorite was easily the Pepsi Max "I'm good." That one had me cracking up the entire time.

The commercials I saw weren't that funny.

The best was the one second Miller High life commercial. xlolx

Me too.

I felt like the better commercials overall were in the first half. xconfusedx

I probably missed a few in the first half though...I was flipping back and forth between the Super Bowl and the Federer/Nadal Australian Open final. Those two are just awesome to watch. xnodx

His bit during the pregame show was pretty darned funny too. He dressed up in a Patriots uniform and tried field goal kicking, unsuccessfully. He finally ended up standing on top of a van, which he had back up about five yards from the goal post, kicked, and hit the crossbar with a vicious riccochet.xlolx

Only Nadal vs. Federer. After their epic Wimbledon final in 2008 (considered by some to be the best match in the history of tennis), I won't miss any match they play against each other. It really is awesome watching those two play each other because they are just so damn good, and they have such a profound respect for one another. If anyone truly enjoys watching sports, you simply have to watch these two play. Epic.

In fact, I think they deserve their own thread. :p

2 of my favorite that haven't been mentioned yet were the Teleflora - "Nobody wants to see you naked" commercial and the Careerbuilder where the Koala gets punched in the face.

The one that made me the most sad was the Cash4Gold because Ed McMahon had to lower himself to be on that commercial.

I watched that before the Super Bowl. I'm not a tennis fan, although I do respect the overall conditioning to play that sport, but I'll watch Nadal vs. Federer anytime and anyplace. I'd love to seem play against each other in person. Those matches are as good as any boxing championship bout.

The only Super Bowl commercial that I liked was the CareerBuilder.com commercial... "it’s time to change jobs".

Needless to say I enjoyed the GoDaddy.COM commercial w/Danica Patrick xbowx in it.

The Troy Polamalu Coke spot which got so much publicity was a bit disappointing IMO.

I liked the magic snow globe doritos one.

I'm with Cobblestone. The careerbuilder one had me laughing too.

"Hey Dummy" and punching the glasses of the koala bear drinking coffee. xlolxxlolx

All in all, below average.

On a completely different note, is anyone else annoyed but the phase "pick six". JFRC its beyond over used these days! xmadx

Looks like maybe some decent movies are coming out this spring/early summer too. Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell looked a little campy, but so was the original. The new Star Trek looked to be decent, but I don't really remember the rest.

Also, Year One with Jack Black looked to be a "History of the World" type movie (although, not possibly as funny)

I did like the aforementioned Pepsi Max commercial, but I think the only one that actually made me laugh was the Pedigree "why don't you get a dog" commercial near the beginning of the game. For some reason I thought the water buffalo getting hit in the face by the frisbee was hilarious.

So in the middle of the 2nd Q I ask the kids if they had any glasses thinking they must have a pair somewhere... both proceed to go upstairs and return with a "nope, couldn't find 'em". So the 3-D portion is on and I say "I can't believe we don't have any glasses" and the girl says, "If I could just find that movie, it has four pairs in it (the exact number in our little nuclear family)"... "What movie?"... "Shark Boy and Lava Girl"... "You mean the copy that's sitting on the TV in our room?"... "Oh yeah".... too late. xoopsxxmadxxoopsx

Technically, The DaVinci Code is the follow-up to Angels & Demons. At least that is how the books went.

Commercials. What commercials? I watched the game on delay, fast forwarded through the stupid pregame & halftime shows & all the commercials.

I often watch taped or delayed TV & rarely watch any commercials. The beauty of a DVR. :)
