Ric Flair has talked Mickey Rourke into wrestling...

Rourke, who will wrestle Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania XXV (25) follows other celebrities like Lawrence Taylor, Drew Carey and Mr. T to step in the wrestling ring at one of the big WWE PPVs...

I think the last celeb to wrestle at WM was Floyd Mayweather (though was that really a wrestling match?)...?

It was more of a match than most folks expected, he took a couple of good bumps. This should be interesting, Jericho can help him through the match and he has some good trainers.

Rourke does look like Jesse Ventura did back in his day. So it makes sense.

I'm interested as well. He looks really good in his film and it seems that he trained himself pretty throughly for the film. Maybe this could be a "legitimate" (oxymoron?) wrestling match. Actors make the best wrestlers, I can't wait to see some of the promos between Rourke and Jericho on RAW xthumbsupx

The promos will be great, especially from Jericho.

Is he going to be wrestling as himself or as the "Ram"?

He took time away from acting to pursue boxing - got his nose broken several times. Also, I'm guessing he may have had some "assistance" getting himself into this type of shape, which may have impacted his complexion a bit.xeyebrowx

How much do you think MR is gonna' make for his "appearance"?

I know all the "names" are under contract, but I once heard that those at the top average about 50k per PPV match.

He will get well over 6 figures to get in there and clown.
I would say at least $200,000.
Plus there is the possibility of injury from getting tossed around the ring.
They have to make it worth these star's time.

Money Mayweather got $1 million.
One blown move by the 7'4", 400lb Big Show in that PPV could have put him out of boxing for months.
That is the reason all these "star's" line up to be in these guest matches.
THEY PAY A LOT OF MONEY.
It's the same reason all these rock groups try to get their new CD/Song's as the title cut's for these PPV event's.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Rourke won't rumble with WWE superstar
Actor had said he'd get into the ring with Chris Jericho in April

HOUSTON - A spokeswoman for actor Mickey Rourke says he won't be taking his role as a professional wrestler into a real-life ring after all.

Paula Woods told The Associated Press on Wednesday night that Rourke will not wrestle WWE superstar Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25 in April at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

Woods wrote in an e-mail that the Oscar-nominated actor "will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career."

I call shenanigans....

Let me guess...he'll be in attendance....ring side seats for one of the shows. (No Way Out perhaps), almost a re-creation of the "Mayweather incident"

I think his involvement will be more Trump-like than Mayweather-like.

Now THAT I'd pay to see. Just the sight of him stomping that big-fat-donut-eating-slob Newt Gingrich into submission then tossing him out of the ring on to his fat @$$ would be worth the price of admission or PPV.
