Do you guys think that Duke should be #1?

Have they given a reason not to be thus far?

Too early to tell if they'll be #1 when it counts. That's why there's a whole season. If they are undefeated heading into ACC, they should be #1. ACC will be a test and we'll see how the dominoes fall...

They are a very good team, but I think they'll lose to Texas at the Meadowlands in a couple weeks. The ACC is weak this year, so they won't have many losses and will probably still get a 1 seed. They are just lacking depth, unless McRoberts and Paulus (the frosh) really step up. And Lee Melchionni is a putz.

I don't think any team in NCAA Div I basketball will go undefeated...

You may go undefeated in the regular season, but come NCAA tournament time, your going down ala Illinois...

but no, I think Texas is the best team in the land, Duke's depth is too young, and I think they will stumble a couple of times in the ACC, unless JJ can score 40/game, which ain't gonna happen

watch out for Maryland and NC State this year

The ACC is weak this year??? Are you kidding??? Is that fact-laced statement based on the fact that UNC lost all their players to the NBA and is STILL considered a viable threat in the ACC? Or almost the same situation for Wake? Is Maryland no longer a threat, even though they are returning almost their entire team, including an injured key player who missed most of last year and they got RID of their cancer-player John Gilchrist??? Boston College?? NC State??

agreed, The ACC may not have the 2 dominant teams that they usually have, but I would put them up against any conference in the nation and we would kick their arse, did you forget about the addition of BC, hell, we could probably sweep most conferences

When was the last time the Big Ten won the ACC/Big Ten Challenege, oh wait, NEVER!

Good god, I think Duke has been on TV at least three times already!! ESPN just slobs on their knob, eh?? Sick of Duke already. Wake me up in February/March for college hoops.

Watch the Maui Invitational over the next few days....wow, what a lineup. I'm taking off work early today to watch Maryland against Gonzaga at 5PM.

Everyone hates Duke, and if you live outside of NC or didn't go to school there, you should hate them. The people who like them around here are either front runners or air head girls who don't know much about sports. So upset that Boston U didn't win last week.. let's hope Bucknell pulls it off January 2.
