JMU's DC George Barlow to University of New Mexico

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Jan. 24, 2009 - George Barlow, a 10-year member of the James Madison University football coaching staff was named the defensive backs coach at the University of New Mexico on Friday. The announcement was made at a press conference by first-year Lobo head coach Mike Locksley.

Barlow has been on the Dukes' staff throughout the tenure of head coach Mickey Matthews. For the past five seasons Barlow has served as the Dukes' defensive coordinator and has coached the safeties. He has also carried the title of assistant head coach during the most-recent years.

NDSU's former DC (Willie Mack Garza) was DB coach at New Mexico for a couple days before taking the same position at Tennessee, looks like Barlow is the replacement

That's quite interesting. I know that Barlow also interviewed for the HC job at UMass. Our OC Jeff Durden also interviewed for the HC job at Towson. Luckily he is still on the staff, at least for now.
