This is the first time I've lived in a city hosting the Super Bowl. Of course growing up near New Orleans I had a chance to take in some activities. But I'm really looking forward to having a good time for the Super Bowl. Lots of activities that I want to catch, of course it sucks that I stay less than 10 minutes from the stadium and can't catch the game. It also sucks that the city is trying to stop the Lingerie Bowl. xnonono2x

I'd imagine that Super Bowl week would be pretty darn cool for any NFL fan, and even more so if you have a team participating in the game. Have fun, Jag!

A few guys I work with are die hard Eagle fans and took a road trip to Jacksonville when the Eagles played the Pats in the Super Bowl a few years ago. They didn't have tix for the game, instead they just took in all the events/activities on the Thursday/Friday/Saturday before the game. They still say to this day that it was one of the best times of their lives.

I'm looking forward to it also!

Jag, have you been able to find a schedule of SB related events? I'm trying to find out if there is anything going on out my way.

Super Bowl activities (http://www.tampabaysuperbowl.com/events.htm). Do you know anybody having a Super Bowl party, me and the wife are looking for one.

Sounds familiar. Welcome to the hell that is living in/near the Super Bowl host city. Personally, I can die a happy man if the Super Bowl never returns to Arizona. I'm convinced that the game is actually irrelevant, and it's all about the hype/hoopla/events. Get ready for "parties" with sitings of C-List/D-List celebrities all week.

Depending upon your social habits, you may find yourself inconvenienced. Last year, my wife and I were unable to hit our usual hang-outs in Tempe and Scottsdale because they were either too crowded or reserved for private parties. Annoying. I don't blame the owners of the restaurants, bars or clubs for catering to private parties however. It's a guranteed payday, and they'd be fools to turn it down.

At the end of it all, people are like, "Oh yeah, that's right, there's a game."

I haven't heard of any parties yet. Our friends around the corner who usually throw the big shin digs are actually going to the game - so that's out. Evidently, they have access to a room in Tampa, so they are looking into renting their house out for the week. An agent told them they could get $18K. xeekx

Since we will have all the kids in tow, we probably won't end up doing anything for game day. I think we might hop on the beach trolley and check out what's going on that Saturday in Clearwater Beach, though. xpeacex

If the Eagles make it, I will most likely be making the trip to Tampa... if not to go to the game, for the festivities. One of my future brother in laws in Steelers fan from Pitt... if they make he is definitely coming down so I may be in the area that weekend...

... is the dog track still open this time of year? I'd love some greyhound betting.

The one in St. Pete is still open. The dog track in Tampa doesn't race any more. It's a poker room now.

I'm quite sure what ever we do will be away from the area we live. We live near 275 and Dale Mabry so I already know that area will be slammed.

Keep us updated on all the activities but spare us the e-mails about loud & obnoxious Eagles fans if we win this weekend. There will plenty of green in Tampa.

I worked the "NFL Experience" events when the SB was in Atlanta, and I had a freaking blast! Plus got some cool free schwag!

I worked the NFL Experience in New Orleans the year the Packers and Pats played. I had a great time. I'll go there for sure.

I'm actually hoping Philly makes it, don't know what to expect from Cardinals fans.

I know the Adult Entertainment clubs are gearing up, lots of money to be paid. xlolx

Inside of four months, Tampa Bay could host its second major sports championship event involving Philadelphia teams. Pretty cool to be a Philly fan in the Tampa Bay area right now. xthumbsupx

You can catch the game. I can hook you up with my guy. It'll cost you about $3,000, but you can go.

$3,000? I know some people that stay down the street from the stadium. I'll just go over there and listen to all the action. xlolx

Ed Rendell on the possibility of an all PA Superbowl...

Eagles fans and Steelers fans are such enthusiastic blue-collar rock 'n' rollers, there may not be much left of Tampa when they get done with it," Rendell told the Times. "[Fla.] Gov. Crist is a friend of mine, so I will offer to send the Pennsylvania National Guard down to help.
