Wow--this team that needed a minor miracle to just make the playoffs is going to the NFC championship game!!!

Even crazier is that the NFC championship game will be played at the Arizona Cardinals, yes the Arizona Cardinals. Cant believe this is happening.

Now that the Eagles have won, all of us in the FCS family need to get together.

1. An Eagles/Ravens matchup in the SuperBowl will pit Westbrook vs. Flacco.

2. Maybe the Superbowl shoud be played at Delaware Stadium which is halfway between Baltimore and Phily.

This is the most interesting playoff of all time and FCS qb Joe Flacco is in the middle of it.

Whoever wins the NFC will be showcasing some FCS talent in the Super Bowl. Warner, Hightower, and Rodger-Cromartie for the Cardinals (Hightower had a TD and DRC a key interception yesterday), and Akeem Jordan and Chris Guocong (sp?) along with Westbrook for the Eagles. Either of those teams going against Flacco's Ravens would be great, though I think I'm rooting for Arizona. Imagine the two FCSers drafted in the first round this past year both making the Super Bowl as rookies . . .

Don't confuse the "better team" with "the team that played a particular game better." A teams quality is determined over the course of the season, not in a single game. But, those "better teams" still need to win their post-season games. They're professionals and understand this.
Using your rational, every team the Giants lost to last year was better.

For instance, nobody will ever argue that the '07 Giants were better than the '07 Pats. But damned if the Big Blue Babies didn't play a better game and win however.

1. Two FCS QB's in the Superbowl
2. UNI vs. UD, tons of highlight. FCS clips from 2003 and 2007
3. Hightower and UD highlights
4. HIghtower highlights in the playoffs.
5. Flacco and Ben Patrick connection.

All of these highlights help FCS.

Flacco combined with Warner is an important part of changing the view of FCS.

Very well, thanks. Most of the fanbase was calling for this when the team was 5-5-1 after a total butt-whipping from Baltimore. .500 ball after 11 games is wholly unacceptable in the NFL. Going 6-1 since then has quieted those thoughts in our brains. :D

^What he said.

In fact, the whole team and fanbase are loose. It was always very tense hosting all those championship games in a row at home, and now with the Eagles getting gifted into playoff eligibility on the last day of the season and trouncing the Cowboys, everyone is in a "this is icing on the cake/what do we have to lose" mood. The Philly crowd can be the team's own worst enemy when things go badly in a first drive/quarter/half.

The philly phan is a phickle beast. Being "gifted" a spot in the playoffs and actually doing something with it. Was talking with some philly friends and we all agreed that if the Eagles lose next week or in the super bowl we won't be upset. Beating the Giants yesterday to us equated to being the NFC east champs, which was not expected this season at 5-5-1. Like you said 93, everything else is "Icing on the cake." There's nothing I like better than a crying Cowboy or Redskin fan.

^What he said right back. I've had a hard time explaining it to my Redskins friends here who texted congratulations after the game yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited, but this all kind of came out of nowhere and every win is a bonus at this point. Similar to the Flyers run in the playoffs last year. I didn't give them much of a shot against the Caps, and really no shot against the Habs... so while losing to the Penguins still sucked... it wasn't nearly as painful as other conference championship losses.

BTW, in the last 8 months, Flyers to conference final, Phillies WFC and now Ealgles to the NFC CG.... OK, maybe not as good as Boston's run, but pretty darn cool. xthumbsupx

Pretty sure it's "ever". You figure, the two-point conversion has only been in the NFL the past several years, so 11 was a difficult score to achieve without a safety for decades. Then, 23 is not that prevalent, so the odds get even slimmer.
