Henderson's acceptance speech should be one for the ages. My hope is that he writes it in the 3rd person.

Here's some schmuck who voted 8 people on his ballot, none of whom are named Rickey Henderson:

This man should no longer be allowed to vote, he obviously does not know anything about baseball.

theres some voters who dont vote for guys that no doubt belong because they know that person will make it and they feel that if Babe Ruth wasnt voted in with 100% no one should... same thing happened a couple years back with Cal Ripken Jr and Tony Gwynn.

If that was the case, then he should have submitted a blank ballot, because there is no way to justify voting anyone in this class over Rickey. Just look at his ballot. Matt f****** Williams?! Really? He's even admitted it was an oversight, an even bigger reason to take away his vote. It's pretty hard to leave off the most obvious candidate in the class.
"I screwed up on the Henderson nonvote," said Simpson, who detailed his choices in a Dec. 10 column for the Green Valley News. "You get to vote on 10 and I only picked eight. I probably did it too quickly."

Yeah. I guess he gets underrated/overshadowed for having played at the same time as Henderson.

I can't believe Dawson hasn't gotten in yet and I can't believe Tim Raines has gotten so few votes. These so called "sports writers" need to quit going by numbers. Tim Raines revolutionized the lead off spot in the Major League. Before him, there was no lead off hitter with speed who could also knock a ball out of the park. The guys stats are pretty amazing too, it's just the sports writers seem to want more.
