*The AP poll was more split than the coaches poll, not totally surprised. *Utah #4 in the coaches poll, very odd and wrong just an opinion.
Try to have a great day. :)

Coaches poll voters HAVE to vote the BCS champion to be #1 if I remember correctly. That one Utah vote as obviously from the Utah coach.

Congratulations to TCU for having a fine season and finishing Top 10! Very gratifying win over Boise State, despite picking the Broncos to win. The Mountain West looked tough this season. xnodx

Again the lack of credibilty of the AP poll is demonstrated.
Honestly, people. Think about a situation in which you have $1,000 dollars on the line. You are going to make a bet. Would you bet on Utah to beat USC? Would you bet on Utah to beat Texas? Would you bet on Utah to beat Oklahoma?
Be honest now.
The idea that Utah is the 2nd best team in the country because it beat an Alabama team that had its offensive line decimated is absurd. No way Utah is the second best team in the country.

I'd say Utah is more insanely overrated than either of those two. TCU was probably the best team in the Mountain West. I realize that because they found a way to lose to Utah they have to be rated lower. But I think they were probably the best team in that league.
Utah being rated #2 in the AP poll and also ahead of Oklahoma in the Coaches poll is a complete joke. To me it's an example of why the better power rating systems are "more accurate" than human polls.

USC - Depends on the line.
Texas - Absolutely.
Oklahoma - Without a doubt.

Well, without a playoff, your idea has as much merit as the next guy's. The other guy would like to point out, however, that the game has been played and the results are irrefutable -- Alabama got pwned by Utah. You've never addressed Alabama's defensive struggles, either. Utah absolutely owned the Tide defense. Assuming Smith played, Bama might have had a better day on offense, but what's the excuse for Utah's 31 points on the board?

To me, it's an examply of why there's no better system than playing the game.

Very late to the topic, but as soon as I heard Utah was ranked #2 I laughed out loud. Not for the same reason as JSO (John, I honestly wouldn't bet on any of those games, just as I wouldn't have bet on the UF/OU game) but because this was the ULTIMATE slap in the face to Utah and to the entire BCS system. To rank a team #2 after all the bowls and NOT have them play for the NC is admitting they F'd up. xlolx xnodx

How many of the 21 points in three possessions did the Utes score against the Alabama offensive line?
A full-strength Alabama would've been down 21-0 in the first quarter. xreadx

Mack Brown said he was voting Texas number 1 after the win over Ohio State.
Where is that vote Mack?!

Funny thing I read on another website:
A Ute fan who attended the Sugar Bowl was told by the kind Southern lady sitting in front of him that he was about to be introduced to "SEC football".
After the first quarter was over, he asked her if they score any points in the SEC.
