Now for a much tougher game Sunday at 1PM at the Meadowlands. BTW, drove past the new Meadowlands stadium under construction on New Years Eve and it look great! Supposed to be ready for games in 2010..

Certainly a big game coming up - pretty even teams that match up pretty evenly as well. Hope the Birds can pull this one off!

Is it right there next to the current?

The freshness of the Giants with the bye week is huge. The Eagles had no cakewalk against the Vikes and I can recall off the top of my head that both Jamal Jackson and Asante Samuel got banged up to some extent during the game.

The Giants will also have had two weeks to analyze how teams were beating them in December after losing Plaxico and devise a counter plan. They'll also be reviewing how they let Westbrook run wild on their linebackers in the second Eagles game.

I expect a very tough game for the Eagles. The one benefit is that they are loose and feel like they're playing with house money. Plus McNabb's fragile ego has been boosted by a vote of confidence from Eagles owner Jeff Lurie this week in the Boston Globe.

Still, I say 20-17 Giants.

Is it right there next to the current?

Yeah, it's in the current Giants Stadium parking lot and is much bigger. It's part of an entire complex of stores and such. A typical American commercial monstrosity.

It was already impressive last year when I went to the Giants/Pats regular season game and they hadn't even really done much with the stadium portion by then.

Brilliant concept for storekeepers though. Dad and son go to the game/mom and daughter run up the credit card in the mall for three hours.

He was injured going into the game. Bad hip. But it certainly can't be feeling better today than it did 24 hours ago.

This will be a tough game for the Birds.

Not anymore though with this economy...Xanadu, the retail complex is across Rt. 120 and connected by PEDbridge to the stadium site and even has an indoor ski slope! This, obviously, was all conceived and started before the economy tanked.

That sounds about right. Don't forget that Akers has historically been horrible at Giants Stadium, so if it comes down to a last-second FG...xrolleyesx

Both teams know each other so well, it will be interesting to see the 'wrinkles' developed by the coaching staffs. I'm sure the Giants would have preferred facing the Vikings. Still, have to give advantage to NY with the healing time they've had, but Iggles should definitely have a real shot.

The Giants would've faced the Cardinals had the Vikes won (Giants get lowest seed left, and the Cards are the #4 seed versus the Vikes who were the #3 seed) so I don't think it's crazy to think the Giants certainly would've preferred seeing the Cardinals rather than the Eagles. Carolina certainly has the easier task this week.

Birdz have a good shot this week...I always think these Giants-Eagles games are a coin flip

There is a certain irony here for both #1 seeds Tennessee and the NY Giants. Both teams played hard to get the # 1 seeds and then appear to have gotten the tougher opponents for the game.

I'm sure home field and the bye week were deemed worth it but It sure seems not much of a reward to get the Eagles instead of the Cards.

It would also seem that Baltimore is hardly the easiest team in the AFC bracket but that is who Tennesse is getting.

The Cards are the easiest draw out there. In the AFC, it wasn't so clear. The Ravens are playing well, but I wouldn't want to play the Chargers either. Didn't really matter from the AFC perspective.

Couldn't have been as painful as it was for Jackson to play in the game...:D

Too bad he didn't knock him out of the game... or even better thrown him at Childress.

As much as i hate the eagles i hate the giants

The eagles will win and they will be in the nfc champ game

I just think the panthers or cards will beat them

Nah, I cant see Arizona doing it but I could see Carolina but not a given by any stretch. The Birdz have just as good a shot at reaching the Bowl as any NFC team.

Good/tough win for the Iggles, even with a somewhat sloppy effort. Seven or eight penalties, McNabb was sacked three times and under pressue alot, and he also turned it over two times (fumble and an INT). If this is duplicated against the Giants, I think the Eagles lose.

The key to this win, imo, was the special teams play of the Birds. Akers had four FG's and deep kickoffs, Rocca had I think 4 punts inside the 20, and DeSean Jackson had two very good punt returns which got the Eagles good field position and some points.

Maybe it's the playoff beards and luck!

Hold on there are you saying the eagles have the same shot of getting to the super bowl as the PANTHERS!

Of course not - the Eagles still have the Giants this week while the Panthers have the much easier task of playing the Cardinals. But should both get through this week, I like the way the Eagles match up against the Panthers. xthumbsupx

They do now that they won last week. Both need two more wins to get to the SB. I think any mathmatician would tell you that's the same shot. xsmiley_wix
