Hopefully (for Lions fans) Ford will wake up now and clean house completely.

And the irony is.......New England goes 11-5 and is sitting right where the Lions are......at home. :(

Has any modern day NFL team gone 11-5 and not made the playoffs?xconfusedx xsmhx

Denver missed the playoffs in 1985 as an 11-5 team.

That said, no 11-5 team has ever missed the AFC playoffs since the current playoff format started in 1990.

Denver went 11-5 in 1985 and missed the playoffs. However, only 5 teams made the playoffs from each conference back then. They are the only 11-5 team to miss the playoffs since the NFL went to a sixteen game schedule in 1978.

Meanwhile, Denver, Arizona, and San Diego could be in the playoffs at 8-8.

I love the thought of not seeing NE in the playoffs!

I'm in that same boat.
And I'm also quite happy whenever the Yankees fail to make the playoffs in baseball. (And the Red Sox are getting just as bad in terms of payroll and stuff, so I like seeing them lose as well)

Actually if Denver makes it, they'll be 9-7.

The Lions can sometimes be a competetive team, as they showed this year. Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith are both going to be vital parts of Detroit being successful in the years to come. (xlolx)

Sorry, it had to be done in the last sentence..... xpeacex

So who becomes the Lions QB next season?

Pat White?

Tim Tebow?

Sam Bradford?

Brett Favre? xlolx

I think Tebow's decision has been made, He'll stay a Gator instead of playing for that mess. At least he'll win more games. xlolx

Jim Rome is a happy boy today. He's been ranting about 0-16 all season.

good for them... they have sucked so bad for so long this is probably the only way anything will get done to improve that team... the next team that this needs to happen to is the oakland raiders

It appears Marinelli is out in Detroit.
