Portland State 38
Gonzaga 37
Viking audio:

also on Fox Sports Northwest and also KHQ-TV in Spokane/Cheney.
Amazing just to be there as the Vikings flight was cancelled from Portland and they had to bus to Bellevue, Washington (Seattle suburb) and then bus to Spokane on Gonzaga's charter. Now they are leading.

I can't stand people constantly calling the Gonzaga Bulldogs the "Zags."

Zags are an official nickname along with Bulldogs, both are recognized by the NCAA.
Gonzaga was a member of the Big Sky, having played in the conference from the inception in 1963 to I think 1979 when it went to the WCC. They never played football within the conference (football was dropped in 1947). They were only a member in basketball.

Not bad for a game that was damn near postponed...
PSU goes out of its way to try to get to Gonzaga (http://www.oregonlive.com/vikings/index.ssf/2008/12/psu_goes_out_of_its_way_to_try.html)

Gonzaga were the ones who wanted to play the game. We were looking forward to it as well, but hats off to the Zags for their assistance in getting us there. We couldn't find anyone to take us through the Gorge, Amtrak wasn't running either, and there have been people at the airport for three days trying to get out. The Blazers flew out of Eugene on Monday and we thought we could do that, too. I guess Gonzaga has a charter plane and they were looking at flying that to either Portland or Eugene and picking us up. Then the busing from Seattle came up and we took that option. I guess both of us wanted to play pretty badly and therefore, it got done.
