Furman, first play from scrimmage, Ingle Martin to Justin Stepp for 58 yards, inside the 3 yard line.

Felton scores on the next play.

Extra Point good. Furman up 7-0.

After another Chatt 3 and out, Furman rolls down the field way too easily.

14-0 with 7:25 left in the first.

Chatt gets down to the Furman 33 after Wallace Artis grabbed the QB's facemask on a sack.

Backup QB throws it into the endzone, intercepted by my "Paul's Life and Thought" classmate, Austin Holmes.

After a good punt return, Chatt's offense starts moving.

Furman 14, Chattanooga 7 0:50 left in the 1st

William Middleton returns ensuing kickoff about 70 yards to set up another TD.

Furman

Well, shoot. For a second there, I thought Furman brought a defense to this game.

Furman 21, Chatt 14 9:03 left in 2nd

Furman's offense making it look way too easy. Care to join them, defense?

Furman 28, Chatt 14, 7:16 left in second

My next-room neighbor, Scott Beckler, missed a FG with 1:29 left in the half.

It's ok, Scott, you're still a good guy.

Still 28-14 Furman.

Shelton Riley INT, Furman ball with 32 seconds, inside Chatt territory.

TD Furman, Ingle to Stepp.

35-14 Furman, 0:26 left in 2nd quarter

Don't screw around Bobby. Don't take the first team defense out in the 3rd quarter.

Weird, some kind of cheating by the refs in favor of UTC. "Live ball foul" means you can fail to convert on 4th down, not even after the penalty, but get a 4th down redo somehow.

"Cheating"? Come on.

Feel free to explain how you get 5 downs.

Furman 2nd team offense scores, led by a 51 yard run by Cedric Gipson. 56-21

Once again Furman's reserve defense can't stop anyone. This time it takes one play - a 60+ screen pass to Buckley. :bang:

Chattanooga blocks a pooch punt and takes it to the house. 56 - 35. :bang:

This is dumb. Furman stops calling serious plays with too much time left and is too careless once in possession of a big lead.

Whats going on?

56 is NOT a safe score against Chatty, lol.

Furman won 56-35. Furman had 330 yards rushing and 332 yards passing.

Nice. Didnt think it was over already. You guys have my vote for #4.

Had UTC not turned it over so much in the first half it would have been a very close game.

nope...not really a close game at all. furman was in complete control the whole game and could have won by more. i think it might have been ingle's best game at furman. he is peaking for the playoffs.

Did you consider Furman in complete control when it was 14-7? (not smack- just curious)

What about when it was 0-0 before kickoff? It was TIED! TIED!

Had UTC not turned it over so much in the first half it would have been a very close game.

Uhh, no.

It was not a contest. Furman's first team offense could have scored A LOT more... at least 70, maybe over 80 if Martin stayed hot (and we didn't let up).

UTC was lucky to get the points they did-- one TD was thanks to 5 downs given by the refs (literally), one was on a punt block, and their second-half scoring was mostly against reserves.

In any case, nice to see the offense execute well heading into the playoffs. After all, we're going to need it.

and their second-half scoring was mostly against reserves.
Which was only fair since the Mocs were playing with their reserve QB almost the entire game after Miller went out with a shoulder injury.

Maybe, but Miller hasn't been that great this year. Plus he doesn't play defense.

The Mocs are improving... but clearly there is a ways to go.

better than a guy that has played about 6 series...in the last 2 years.

but hey, you would know.

thanks for giving zero credit to "the other team" ... sounds like it is pure luck that the Mocs scored a point ... or the only thing holding Furman under a 1,000 was you guys being nice.

Ingle is lucky he didn't have two more picks to his total.
