Chattanooga fans will probably cheer on Coach Fisher's son's team.

Coach Fisher’s son a Montana starter

Jeff Fisher’s Tennessee Titans own the best record in the NFL at 12-2, but Fisher doesn’t have the best record in his family.

Brandon Fisher is a junior strongside linebacker for the Montana Grizzlies, who are 14-1 entering Friday night’s Division I football championship game against Richmond at Finley Stadium. At a combined 26-3, the Fishers have enjoyed plenty of pleasant father-son conversations this fall.

“We’re both having great years,” Brandon said, “and we’ve said all along that we’re just going to keep plugging along and take a look back once this thing is over. Hopefully, one or both of us can win a championship.”

Wow, that was a nice article. Always liked the Fisher's...I saw him in Cheney for the Eastern game and was shocked that he was just standing alone on the side line. Must be a very "to himself" sort of guy. Luckily we get a few more games with Brandon...he's a great player

I don't know if this was posted anywhere else, but Fisher was on the Mike Tirico show today and the first five or so minutes were about the National Championship game and Fisher's son. It was really nice.

I thought you meant that Tennessee Vols fans were going to back the Griz because they don't want to cheer on any team associated with Dave "Clawfense" Clawson...

His offense was brutally bad a Tennessee...

Yeah, because he suddenly forgot how to coach offense after 15 years. Give me a break. None of Tennessee's 12 QBs would be starting for Richmond right now. It takes players who are intelligent enough to understand the system. DC is on the Urban Meyer express now, starting at Bowling Green just like Meyer did. Give Clawson 7 years or so and he'll have a big time HC job.

I sat right behind him at that game, seemed like a really down to earth guy.

Despite difficult economic times and living two time zones away, Grizzlies supporters will be traveling en masse to Chattanooga for Friday night’s Division I football championship game against Richmond. Montana is making its fourth trip to Finley Stadium this decade and may bring 3,000 fans for the first time.
“It’s been mind-boggling since we qualified to go back to Chattanooga to see the interest we have in all the charter flights,” Montana athletic director Jim O’Day said Monday. “We can’t keep up with people, and some of these charters are charging $1,500 to $1,800 just to get down there for a couple of days. That’s a lot of money for the Christmas season. The last time we went in 2004, I think it was about $850.
“Our fans are unique. They travel long distances to watch their Grizzlies play.”
They follow a winner, as Montana’s 105 victories since 2000 are more than any other Division I team, topping the Oklahoma Sooners by three.
