So who's going to win home-field advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC this Sunday night. I've got to go with my Panthers myself! I know they haven't been great on the road so far, but right now the Panthers are just about 100% healthy (and they haven't always been so in some of these other ropad games, like Tampa Bay for instance), and are RED HOT! The Giants, on the other hand, seem to be cooling off some as of late.

Panthers 27- Giants 17

Just an added question- what if the game WERE to actually end in a tie? In that unlikely event, what would be the tiebreaker for the #1 seed?

The tiebreaker would be conference record, I believe.

First tiebreaker after head-to-head is conference record

If the game ended in a tie, the Giants would need to win at Minnesota to clinch homefield due to their 9-2-1 conference record (assuming the last W), which would beat Carolina's 8-3-1 (if they won at New Orleans). If the Giants lost to Minnesota, a Carolina win would give them homefield. If both lost, the Giants 8-3-1 would beat Carolina's 7-4-1

But, I'm picking the Giants to get their groove back in the swamps of NJ and finally wrap this thing up :D

With Plaxico Burress gone, the Giants are a completely different team. The Eagles and Cowboys exposed that in the past two weeks. With no need to double-team the average receivers that are left, people can stack the box. Throw in the fact the Giants O-line and Brandon Jacobs are banged up and there has been quite a dropoff from a month ago.

I was always amazed out how the Giants were able to replace seemingly key losses and continue to be successful. I guess the losses of Barber, Shockey, Strahan, Umenyiora, and now Burress have finally caught up to them. That's a lot of talent gone in two years.

Screw New York and anyone with the last name Manning (who plays football and is the spawn of Archie Manning xnodx). Honestly, it had the feel of the Giants/ Patriots game last year. It sucks that Carolina had the game and couldn't get stops and first downs. But, high-pressure game, defending Super Bowl champs and I think the Panthers played well. If they keep up that kind of play, we could see a rematch in the NFC Championship game. With the play of the Panthers the last few years, I'll take this kind of performance.

It was a great game between two very good teams. I certainly like NY's chances in a rematch, especially knowing it'd be back in the Meadowlands, but Carolina looked very dangerous. May you stumble in the Divisional round ;)

Panthers looked good in this game, just not good enough. That Kasay field goal hurt, but its tough for a 39 year old kicker to make a 50 yarder with some fierce winds. Both teams are going to be hard to beat if they play like they did last night. GO PANTHERS!
