JMU QB Rodney Landers has been selected as the 2008 recipient of the Dudley Award as the top Division I football player in Virginia. The second place vote getter was Victor "Macho" Harris of Va Tech.

I saw the news today in purple ink at the top of the front page of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Normally - when it comes to college football, anyway - I despise all things purple. Living in the Old Dominion, though, I'll take a dash of purple any day of the week over all this nasty orange.

So hey, congrats to a deserving player and congrats to JMU for the front-cover exposure.
