I was pretty pleased by seeing 3 app selections but even as the app homer that i am, bieschke surprised me a little especially following the job he did against richmond but i am sure this was calculated after the regular season... but still a little surprising

He broke and tied NCAA records this season.

Honestly, I think Mariani is 1.c behind the two guys on the first team. I could argue he should be there, and argue he shouldn't...but, whose team is still playing this week? And, who will be around next year to tear up the FCS?

I think its a good list. I would put David McCarty at the #3 RB spot behind those two guys on the list, so he should be on all of the AA lists that have second teams for sure.

Nobody had more profilic returns in terms of the national scene than Scotty McGee. I have seen both this year and McGee should be 1st team with Vann 2nd team. Not saying Vann is not good but his returns did not impact the top 10 and playoffs seeds like McGee's did.

These teams should be selected based on the regular season and most are. They didn't know when they selected these teams that Mariani would still be playing. Just because you are on the better team does not mean you are the better player. If we went by that then the 1st team All-America list should be solely Richmond and Montana players and let's be real, there is no way Ward or Bergquist is better than Edwards or Landers. You select the best player no matter what team they are on.

Will Ford doesn't have great stats and sure his team made the playoffs, but because they won a conference. Winning the MEAC is no greater a victory than winning the NEC this year. The MEAC gets an AQ, but that has nothing to do with strength of conference this year.

Just want to give a shout out for Walter Camp All-American SS Colt Anderson of the Montana Grizzlies, who had 18 tackles against JMU on Friday in the semifinal, all on a bad ankle.

Voters take into account the level of competition weekly. While McCarty performed well against solid teams he did not do it against anyone ranked in the top 10 at this point and that is something voters look at. If Albany were to play JMU, App State, Richmond, Villanova, etc. next year and he would still put up those type of numbers then I don't see any way voters leave him off the list.

I saw McCarty play and he is really good. I think he deserves to be an All-American but I also think level of competition plays a role just like it does with draft status, the Heisman, etc. He will be downgraded somewhat. Fair or not, that is how it is.

On some of the points of other players you can argue that McCarty ran over a Jacksonville team that was killed by 50 plus at App State and Vaughan ran wild over App State keying a victory there. While McCarty is a great player he has to prove it against ranked teams that he should be higher than the others.

Not sure if you can say the MEAC is really that bad. They just didn't have any great teams. SC State gave ASU a great game and the only team you have in common with ASU is Jacksonville and they were killed by twice as many points as you beat them.

I'm not against you, just giving you arguments that others are going to give. I hope McCarty makes some All-America teams but if he is snubbed from any I hope you realize that level of competition is why.

Very good pass catching threat. From seeing him I can tell that he needs work on blocking but he has good hands and runs well. He also gets open. If he can bulk up, get stronger, and improve his blocking I could see him getting drafted for sure.
