Well, Jerry Richardson's Panthers looked GREAT last night. They just ran all over a stout Tampa defense with Stewart and Williams. I think my Panthers will run the table and make it to the Super Bowl if they can keep the running game going like that- look out Giants! By the way, Jerry Richardson, Wofford College's most famous graduate, needs your get-well wishes. He's been hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat. Get well, J-Rich!

Tennessee vs. Carolina Super Bowl would be great. However, I don't want to get ahead myself here. Get through the regular season and see how the playoffs will go from here.
Get well soon. xthumbsupx

I really was hoping Stewart would go to Seattle out of the draft- but I can't think of a better situation for him for his rookie year than Carolina. As a complimentary back to Williams, the 'Thunder and Lightning' combo is there. Stewart doesn't hede all of the responsibility in the backfield his rookie year which gives him time to develop more confidence and get used to the speed of the game, which I think he has done well.
I can't wait to see what becomes of him the next couple years, or where he ends up. Hopefully the Panthers see the just how valuable he will be in the coming years xthumbsupx

I hadn't heard until last night the Richardson was in the hospital. I hope he gets better so he can see his franchise return to the Super Bowl.

I'm a Bear first but a Panther second and the game with NYG in 12 days is gonna be scary good, but gotta get past Denver first.

With no real NFL ties of my own (sometimes I root Packers, sometimes Steelers, sometimes Chargers), I see no reason why I can't jump on the Panthers' bandwagon this season. :D

Considering the Lions are my favorite NFL team, I'm real glad to have the Panthers as an alternate.

That is so true. There are no gimmes in the NFL, that's for sure. I mean, we had some trouble with the LIONS for a while.xconfusedx If we lose to Denver, that Giants game becomes less important!

The Panthers look good this year, but they can be a Jekyll/Hyde team (look at the Atlanta blowout). Amazing they've transformed from a pass-happy team two years ago before Jake got hurt to possessing an exceptional run game. I guess they've now become something of a dual threat. I hope they do well.

The thing about the panthers is that injuries have always killed them. They did horrible against TB the first time because they were missing 2 OL to injury and couldn't run the ball or protect Jake. There is something special about this team though, I think they are the best thing since the '03 team. By the way it's not thunder and lightning it's "slash and dash"xsmiley_wix .

They've always been that way, remember in '03 they lost to the Texans who were horrible

Exactly who's Panthers are they?? :D
I am super excited about this year. Good showing on MNF. I am hard pressed to find anything but Cowboy Fans (or haters) out here; But I am flying the Panther flag on the house.

I was so proud of how my Panthers STOMPED the Bucs Monday night.
How would the rest of the NFL feel if the Panthers snuck up and grabbed not only that first round BYE but homefield advantage throughout? :D

It's possible, just not probable.
If my Eagles don't make it in, I just may jump on the Panthers bandwagon!

Great job by Carolina on MNF. Very few teams can rip the Bucs defense to shreds like that. Carolina's a very underappreciated team considering what they've accomplished in their short time in the league xsmileyclapx
If the Panthers win out, they'll get homefield in the NFC, but remember that as strong as they are at home, they're decidedly mediocre on the road. Their game with the G-Men in 2 weeks is in the Meadowlands :D

As long as my team makes it in, I don't care where they play. Besides home field advantage doesn't get you very far. Dallas and Green Bay had it last season.

Panthers need to win a road game against a team w/ winning record before I'll believe. Two shots after the Denver game.
My team the Chiefs is almost as bad as the Lions, our one Furman alum who plays is on the Lions, and my Super Bowl pick , the Chargers has failed big time. I'm rooting for a Ravens-Falcons or Cards Super Bowl for something totally different, and to give those TV networks a heart attack!!

Tuesday I got the feeling from watching the ESPN talk shows (PTI and around the horn) that none of the jabberers felt very comfortable talking about the Panthers. Charlotte is not a major market and the Cats don't get that much attention, so the talking heads didn't really have much to say about Carolina that got past what the average fan would already know.
Now, the Panthers are 3-3 on the road with losses at Tampa, Atlanta and Minnesota, but Sportscenter this morning noted that NFC South teams are 0-10 on the road within the division (Tampa plays at Atlanta Sunday and Carolina closes the season at New Orleans). The Panthers have never beaten Denver so they have to break that streak at home this Sunday. Even if we lose at New York, we will still win the division and get a first round bye with wins vs. Denver and New Orleans. With Tampa almost certain to be one of the wild card teams against either Arizona or Minnesota (if they can hold on in the North) I'd just as soon have the two seed as I'd rather take my chances with the Cardinals or Vikings/Bears as opposed to Tampa in Charlotte in the second round (provided that the last wild card team-maybe Dallas-doesn't pull a first round upset).

We looked impressive on MNF, but lets see how the season ends. None of the remaining games are gimmes. That said, I'm loving what we've done so far. Two solid backs, a good O-Line, and a capable qb will keep us in games. People hate on Delhomme, but I think he's the man. Go CARDIAC CATS!

Carolina 30, Denver 10...We move one step closer to that #1 seed today!
Great games for Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith, and another long TD run for DeAngelo Williams. Next Sunday night, we have the big one in New York!

The winner of the Carolina/NY Giants game next week clinches the NFC #1 seed. Everyone else is two games behind and even if the winner next week loses in the final week, they have the tiebreaker.
