New England, Miami and the Jets now all tied at 8-5.
tiebreaker order right now I believe would be Jets, Dolphins, Patriots
Should be a nice final three weeks working this mess out since its likely only one of them will get in the playoffs.

Patriots lose every conceivable tie-breaker in the AFC. However, one would figure if they go 11-5 they'll get in. Washington needs to do us a favor tonight.

Not sure how he keeps his job other than cheap ownership. He had one good year with Chicago and has done nothing other than that.

Baltimore up 24-10.
Right now three way tie NYJ 2-1, NE 2-2, Mia 1-2. Miami at NYJ Week 17.
What's left
NYJ: Buff, at Sea, Mia
NE: at Oak, AZ, at Buff
Mia: SF, at KC, at NYJ
Balt: at Pitt, at Dal, Jax
Ind: at Jax, Det, Tenn
Hope that helps!

Everybody wants him out....the team has basically quit on him too. Nice guy but a poor gameday coach. But the cheap ownership part does exist so he could stay on.

I see Indy going 12-4 or 11-5 depending on how the Titans play the last game of the season and therefore taking one wildcard spot. The Pats have the easiest remaining schedule out of the three remaining East teams. The Niners have been very good lately and could pose a challenge to Miami, but if Gore is out it will definitely improve the Dolphins chances. KC they should win, and the big one will be against the Jets.
Jets have only one real tough game and that is against the Dolphins. I hate to say it but I think the Pats might take the division.
North: Pitt
South: Tenn
West: Denver
East: Pats
Wildcards: Ravens, Colts

NE: at Oak, AZ, at Buff

Ind: at Jax, Det, Tenn
1. South: Tennessee Titans
2. North: Pittsburgh Steelers
3. East: Miami Dolphins

Wildcards:
5. Indianapolis Colts: 11-5
6. New England Patriots: 11-5
7. Baltimore Ravens: 10-6
8. New York Jets: 9-7
So that would make
1. Tennessee Titans vs. Winner of Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos
2. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Winner of New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

It's really NE's for a WC but not division. As bad as Jets are playing, Buf is doing worse as is Sea and Mia should beat KC and SF. Winner of the Jets Mia game (looking better for Mia now but who knows) should get the division).

I wouldn't be so sure about that....as someone has already pointed out, if the Jets beat Buff and Sea (good chance) and the Fins beat SF and KC (real good chance), then the Pats can't win the division unless the Jets and Fins tie. And even if NE wins out they would need Indy or Baltimore to lose twice.

One problem is that Tennessee may decide to rest some players in that last game versus Indy.
Miami always has problems against the Jets regardless of records or momentum. It sure would be a nice Christmas present for Miami to win the East by beating the Jets & Favre.

Unless the format has changed, the #1 seed would play the lowest remaining seed after the wild card round.
Using your seedings, the Titans would play the Patriots if the Patriots win, otherwise they will play the winner of Indy-Denver

If New York finishes 2-1 with a loss to Miami, NE wins out and Miami loses to either SF or KC, the Patriots win the division.
All three would be 2-2 in the games between the three teams, all three would be 4-2 within the division. The third tiebreaker is common games. NE is 9-1 in common games, Miami 8-2 and the Jets 6-4.

I'm not sure if the Pats can beat Arizona given their injuries on defense. Bruschi might be out of the year and their already going the AARP route at LB. If NE makes the playoffs Belichick should be COY.

Arizona is not good coming out east... I think the weather (if it is actually cold/snowy/rainy) and coming out east could help the patriots in that game.

Is it even a tie though? Wouldn't NE be 11-5 and the other two be 10-6?

I don't see New England going any better than 10-6, best case scenario. And like someone said, NE comes out on the bottom if NYJ, MIA, and NE all tie. Jets will probably win their last 3 to go 11-5. At any rate, I don't see the Pats finishing with a better record than NYJ. And Miami probably has two wins coming against KC and SF to finish 10-6.
Unfortunatley, even I (die-hard Patriots rube for 24 years) must say I don't think NE even deserves to be in the playoffs at this point. They struggled immensely against a 2 win Seahawk team and got blown out by a crappy San Diego squad. The only even somewhat impressive win they've had this season was against a questionable Denver team.

I wouldn't lock a Miami win in stone there, they did just beat the Jets and played the Pats tough.

Agreed...and I wouldn't lock up the Jets to win three straight just yet either. They are struggling, they are already 0-3 in West Coast trips and still have to go to Seattle, and the Bills actually have a good recent track record at the Meadowlands.

They won't be able to rest anyone until Pittsburgh loses another game. If the Steelers beat Baltimore and then beat Tennessee, the Titans will have to beat the Colts to assure themselves the #1 seed, assuming they beat the better than advertised Texans this week.

I would hate to have to vote for Coach of the Year this year:
Fisher
Coughlin
Sparano
Smith (Atl.)
Harbaugh
Whisenhunt
Tough choice!!!
Or how about Marinelli from Detroit for not killing himself or someone yet this year?

If Miami wins the division coach of the year should be Tony Sparano hands down. No team in NFL history has gone 1-15 then make the playoffs the next year. If Miami goes 3-0 then just a Pats loss and the Dolphins are in for a team that looked at best 4-12 or 3-13 then Pennington comes to the team and they looked maybe 7-9 and here they are in a first place tie with3 games left. This team is the most scariest team in the NFL. Just look what they did to the Pats in NE and they had some tough losses but they should (no guarantee) beat the 49ers at home, at KC then for the division title at the Jets who was 1 pick from beating them in week 1. GO PHINS!!!:)
