Two things UNI's yards per game could be a little bit skewed do to the fact that the defense gets a lot of turnover and short fields. Not trying to make excuses though.

The Numbers look pretty even overall. If UNH stops the run, they'll win. If UNI stops the pass, they'll win.

The items that are missing are the kickoff coverage and return info. I think this is a UHN strength (returns) and an UNI ? (return coverage).

UNH has way more TO's than UNI I know that for a fact.....one thing to look for in this game...... in past seasons UNH has used trick plays when the timing was smart....this season not so much either the situations have been bad but not as many as past seasons...... would really like to see one or two this week

One more is Turnover Margin
UNH - 1.42 (3)
UNI - 1.38 (4)
Seems as if this is not UNH having way more than UNI. But they are currently better.

I think smcwildcat is referring to the raw number of TO's snagged by the UHN def. Its something north of 30, right?

UNH has forced 37 turnovers this year, but I think it's kind of an overrated statistic. UNH has forced a lot of teams to throw because of either early or late leads, and that's where they've had the majority of their interceptions. While UNH could reasonably take an early lead, I wouldn't expect it, so I wouldn't expect the amount of INT's they've otherwise had. Just over the past few weeks, Maine (down the stretch) and UMass (pretty much the whole game) had to pass a lot because of trailing.
I think UNH's offensive numbers are actually somewhat hurt by the fact that they played in a blizzard on the final week of the season and because they took a lot of early leads and thus did not score a ton of second half yardage/points. SIU's defense was very good and UNH did not score as well, so we'll see how that translates to UNI.

Well then that means if their raw number is more than ours then they turn the ball over way more than us because our ratios are very even :)
But actually they have gained 37 while we have gained 33.
We have lost 15 while they have lost 20.
Take those as you will.

bottom line. expect another great game from these two teams, after which they should get together and release a DVD set of the three great playoff games the two teams have played.

Hopefully I'll only have to puke after watching two of the three games.
That first game was brutal. It was about -40 and we lost. I sat there in the stadium for quite some time. Man I hated that TE with a ponytail.
