This is why I never bought into the few that said this wouldn't happen due to the cost.

Sounds like UM should have thought about increasing the price of the jersey's from $200 to $250 or $300. Or better yet, put them all up for auction with the highest bidders for the available jerseys getting them. They could have potentially doubled or tripled the revenue.
I hope UM waits to do the throwbacks for another 7 years and breaks them out again for the homecoming game in 2015 (the 20th Anniversary year of our first Championship).xthumbsupx

Usually when teams do throwback they go back 20 or 30 years, rather than 12 years, Oh thats right UM football was established in 1986

Yeah, that's what App did with their throwback jerseys after the Jacksonville game. I believe Armanti's went for a couple thousand.

The helmets wern't, they were mid 90's, so the throwback was a 12 yr throwback.

Montana's state colors have always been copper, silver, and gold. To us older Big Sky fans, that is what the Griz colors have always been. Maroon is such an inferior color. Montana, bring back the CS&G, and leave the maroon once and for all!

That's freakin awesome. That's a true show of support from alumni & the community at large.
I would love to see something like that happen down here in San Marcos for the Bobcats.

Apparently you got a random jersey at the sale. If they had done an auction like you said, the star player's jerseys would go for like five times the asking price. Oh well, I suppose the program's got enough money to begin with.:D

Think of how much a big booster would pay for the #37 jersey?!!? My guess is that they will change it auction style next time around (whenever that is) with a $200 or $250 minimum.

I got to the GSA web site at 12:22, which opened at 12:00, to find out that both the jerseys, and helmets were sold out.xbawlingx xbawlingx xbawlingx
I planned on buying one of the helmets, but it looks like that extra 20 minutes of sleep saved me $350...either that, or its gonna' cost me more...depending on what they go for on ebay.
I'm going to see the GSA people tomorrow...kiss as much/many a$$es as I need to, and try and get on a waiting list, if there is one, for those people who's payment didn't go through/clear/whatever.

UM should keep that color scheme.

No one got a Senior's jersey or helmet.
So Cole, Colt, Schmidt, etc. all got to keep their jerseys and helmets, if I recall correctly.

With the exception of a couple of off years, Bobcat football fizzled out in 1985

CRAP, I can't believe I missed the fact that the Griz were doing this. I've been saying for several years that they should go back to these permanently. I am not a fan of the maroon and silver (although I wore my maroon and silver Griz cap on Sunday).

Nope, I think the vast majority of fans had no idea, and the place went nuts when they came out sporting them. xnodx

The radio announcers said that only 3 people knew until right before the game.
The Griz warmed up in Maroon & Silver, and two "non-starters" came out for the coin toss.
When they came out of the tunnel, 25,000 fans went nuts! It was awesome.

Saw this game on DirecTV and did a double take when I first tuned in.
I was looking for Dave Dickinson and Brian Ah Yat on the field.
