The I-AA Texas Title Game is this weekend. We don't count the SWAC I-AA institutions in Texas as they do not actively play the other I-AAs in the state outside of themselves, so they aren't eligible. Gotta play some more I-AA Texas schools, fellas!
The Kats have eight of the titles (though we did beat then-SWT in 1991 when we tied them for the title). The Cats won two solos and one co-title under the SWT name.

SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE TEXAS I-AA TITLE
Both the Bearkats and the Bobcats own victories over SFA this season, meaning Saturday decides the Texas I-AA bragging rights for the Southland Conference. Sam Houston State has won the Texas I-AA title eight of the 18 seasons the three universities have been members of the Southland. Past SLC Texas I-AA “champions” have been:
