Which sucks. There are not 16 better teams than Maine in the nation. Don't worry though. I'm sure that 60-10 App win over an OVC or MEAC school will make a lot of people happy. xcoffeex

I wasn't trying to be negative, just posted that because it was likely a playoff game that didn't come out in your favor. BTW, I agree with you, but that's what we get with the autobids....sorry.

I dunno, Maine wouldn't have a win against anyone in the playoff field. W&M would since they beat New Hampshire.

W&M beat UNH at UNH homecoming... so I think W&M gets the edge there.

I would rather play JMU if we have to travel because I could get there quicker than I could get to Orangeburg if they are making us travel. But, I would love a rematch at Gibbs against Richmond.

If Poly keeps it up against Wisconsin, they could be in the seed discussion, though I think Montana will grab one because Weber is going down hard against Eastern Washington...though I would somewhat disagree with this if it happened.

Tough call, but Lafayette's loss to Lehigh hurts Liberty. They now have what looks like one really really really bad loss, one bad loss and only one good win.

There's a glimmer of hope them because the committee may be hesitant to put 5 CAA teams in the playoffs for a second year in a row. But yeah, that loss to Presbyterian is terrible. If that had just won that game they'd probably be shoe-ins at this point.

As much as I would like to see us make the playoffs - I can't be upset if we don't after the Pres. game. No excuse for that

For the last spot, looks like we have: (tell me if I missed someone, I think this is it and only Liberty (and maybe NDSU) of this group got it done today)
Liberty - 10-2 (8-2 in D-I games - 1 horrible loss, 1 not great loss - Best win over Elon - 3 game win streak to end)
WM - 7-4 (3 losses playoff teams and 1 to an FBS team - Best win over a playoff team - UNH - end with 2 straight losses after 5 game win streak)
Maine 8-4 (3 losses playoff teams and 1 to an FBS team - Best win UMass - end with a loss after 6 game win streak)
Elon 8-4 (3 losses to playoff teams and Liberty (potential playoff team), Best win - Furman - end with a loss and lose 3 of last 4)
NDSU 7-4 (if they win) - 1 loss to playoff team, 1 loss to FBS, 1 ok loss, 1 horrible loss, Best win playoff team SIU - end with a 4 game win streak)

Nah, I think we should get a chance to avenge the home lose, and we are the more deserving team for a home game if we are matched.

W&M always beats UNH perhaps the committee will consider that.
How does that diminish their win? What if one team were to be undefeated for a couple of years.....do they just not get into the playoffs after a while? Because they "always beat all the teams they play" xlolx
Sorry, not trying to take your post out of context but just wondering what you meant by it more specifically.

If that loss proves to be the committe's reason for keeping LU out, it would be hard to argue that!

Last year the committee allowed a Montana St. team into the playoffs with a DII loss. That loss was worse than losing to a FCS team that is about to be in the conference. I agree it is a bad loss but I think the committee will be forgiving of one bad loss for liberty.

That was two years ago and MSU also had an FBS win at Colorado. Liberty can claim no similar win.
